Great card and wrapping paper and silly gifts shop. They make their own cards as well, so you can get stoke newington themed stuff here and send it to your relatives, who won’t get the relevance of it, but you’ll know, even if that knowledge is useless. Currently having a bit of a sale on. I like the elvis fridge magnets and the 73 wrapping paper, but I wouldn’t buy it for the reasons stated above.

I really want a retro space hopper and now they have them at Early Bird card shop. I wouldn’t bounce into Shoreditch on it trying to be cool I would just go up to Clissold Park and hop around when no one was watching. I’ve been pretty good this year so maybe Santa will bounce down my chimney with one.
This card shop is great for the kind of cards that make you look cool and thoughtful and the kind of wrapping paper that costs more and is probably much nicer than whatever is actually inside. They also have a personal card making service and although I have no idea how much it costs, money goes a bit out of the window at Christmas time, even more so at Kwanzaa, especially when you’re shopping for that special someone.
Being in Stoke Newington, all of the paper products at Early Bird are made with trees from sustainable forests, cut down by happy, well fed and paid tree elves (don’t quote me on that last bit).

This sweet little shop in Stoke Newington has a great selection of gift idea’s, ribbon’s and wrapping paper. Almost everything has been designed by the shop owner’s themselves so you can expect to find a lot of original and unique item’s. Personally my favourite item has to be the mugs printed with ‘I LOVE STOKEY’ which I think would make a great present for anyone in the who lives in the area.
It’s important to point out that this shop isn’t all about novelty and stocking fillers. Most the cards and wrapping paper are stylishly understated and there is a large selection of posh toiletries and candles too. Though it might be a bit expensive for me to buy my wrapping paper from Early Bird every time there is a birthday on the horizon, I would definitely recommend it for the occasional special gift.

Earlybird is filled with pretty eclectic designs and presents, and some strange bits and bobs you could get for a costume party. I was quite taken with the fake chest hair piece, witches teeth, Sudoku toilet roll and a hot water bottle with a skull and bones knit over it.
They design and print a lot of their cards, so you can find something unique for your friends. I might just have to go back for the big ‘space’ ball, which is a giant rubber ball to bounce around on shaped like an alien. Cool. The only problem will be the the many other distractions on the way.

It wasn’t until I went on their website that I realised that the people behind Earlybird not only sell their wares, but also design all those wares themselves. (well, not everything, but a lot of the bits in the shop) They sell their own designs– brightly-​coloured illustrations and repeated patterns of butterflies, birds, dinosaurs and animals– on occasion cards, blank cards and wrapping paper.
There are a number of fun gifts such as ‘I love Stokey Mugs’ and novelty moustaches as well as more sensible presents such as moleskin notebooks.
The two men who work there are lovely and very funny– they spent the half an hour I was in there arguing about Doctor John and who should do the washing up that had been there for three days. Far nicer than Paperchase.

Absolutely amazing.
If you are in a hurry for a birthday or any other celebration, go there you’ll find cards and gifts that you didn’t see before.
Even the cards are unique.
They’ve got candles, they’ve got paper, boxes, small cards and all you need to wrap any gift.
They’ve got also a lot of things about Stokey so you can buy your pins I love Stokey or your mug. A lot of excuses to be proud of this area.
The staff is really nice, always smiling.
Prices are attractive.
