The air con was broken when we went one hot summers night, but it made it even more authentic. Shame it’s shut. This place was great.

Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Tried seven different tapas and two desserts and everything we had tasted great. Wine was good and the ambiance was nice too but the food was second to none.

Came here with a large group of friends for my Birthday dinner while visiting London from Philly — and I cannot say anything bad about this place! The service was incredible — they took note of my name and the fact that it was my Birthday and made me feel like a true VIP… the food was fantastic as well, we got a tapas tasting menu and everything was great! This is a great place for a party like this, or just a night out with friends or a romantic dinner. Plus — after dinner you can go clubbing right around the corner!

Great family run place. Extremely friendly. Great food. We go there a lot. Nice breakfasts and not expensive. Recommended.

Muy buena elaboración de tapas, acompañadas de cervezas muy ‘nacionales’ y excelentes vinos. Nos sentimos muy identificados por lo que quedamos a vuestra disposición en

I’ve always walked past El Rincon Latino, but never made time to delve inside. From the outside you would be forgiven in thinking this was a dark and dingy tapas bar worth avoiding, it hardly looks very inviting from the street. But based on a friends recommendation, we decided to finally give it a go. With an hour to spare before a film at the Picturehouse, we had an early sup at El Rincon, and were not disappointed. We tried the baby squids, a mixed salad, garlic prawns, and a fantastic dish of hanging skewered lamb(think churrascaria). The service and food was great, and skylights at the back end of the restaurant mean diners are bathed in light — which really adds to the ‘holiday’ feel of the place. Will certainly be going back.

Most of my prior experience with Spanish food in London had been through La Tasca … hence needless to say that i hadn’t been very impressed. After my recent trip to Catalunya i got converted to the view that Spanish food is indeed very tasty and that i should try some more of it in London. This was my first stop. The friend of mine who got me here did so primarily because he hadn’t enjoyed the Sangria in Barcelona and wanted to show me what good Sangria was. We ordered a pitcher. The drink we got was strong with lots of fruit(that was the only difference i found from the drinks we had had in spain). To maximize the number of different things we could have to eat, we decided to skip the main course and order starter portions. We went for: 1. Spanish omelette — a quintessential favourite of mine … and El Rincon Latino excelled themselves here. 2. Garlic chicken — good … but too dry for me. My friend enjoyed it. 3. Veal kidneys … cooked in sherry. It was a great preparation. I really liked it. 4. Chorizo. It was cooked with cider. I guess the taste of cider showed up a bit too much … the taste was more sour than i am comfortable with. This restaurant is located some distance off clapham common station … in a rather shady looking lane. I can’t imagine it being very popular with outsiders but it seemed a great place for the locals to have their family evening-outs. At £20 per head … it was pretty affordable. If i am pining for tapas when i am in Calpham, i shall go back.

El Rincon Latino = El Rincon Frickin Delicious! This little beauty is hidden away from the hoardes of the High St — yet it always manages to be busy. The fact that i’m the FTR surprises me as I’ve spoken to people who live way up in North London that make the trek to Clapham just for an occasional visit. The tapas is that bloody good. It’s family run, which is reflected in the great service, and it’s small, cute, and charming. It’s all very comfortable. It can get a little crazy on the weekend when they’re bursting at the seams, but it’s part of the charm. We were treated to rounds of Gloria Estefan and Gypsy Kings on my recent visit — the manager getting seemingly lost in the music and candlelight as he shook his Spanish booty whilst cleaning the glasses at the end of the night. The food is the highlight though. Whilst I’d say that the staple dishes of patatas bravas, chorizo and calimari etc are really rather good, there are some real hidden gems on this menu if you’re wiling to experiment. The sardines? Good lord! They adverstise their serrano ham croquettes as ‘lip smacking’ and they’re not lying. And I could probably eat their meatballs with every meal for the rest of my life. It’s decent value too. Decent selection for 2 with drinks came to £38. I’m so lucky to have this place 20 yards from my front door.

Yum. Definitely one of my favourite places in Clapham. Very friendly staff(I think the place is family owned). Food is excellent quality and prices are about right(£50−60 ish for 2 including wine) Only problem is choosing what to eat!(although the Whitebait is a must IMO!)

I love this place. As soon as I step in, I feel like I’m on holidays and switch to spanish mode immediately. The atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly, you have a wide variety of tapas and a lot of spanish beers to choose from, although I usually always go for Sangria and never start without my shot of tequila(must-have). Definitely need to book to avoid disappointment but staff will keep you busy at the bar where you can also have a selection of tapas and beer while waiting for a table. The food is lovely and good value for the area; also really enjoy the fact that you can speak the language with the staff all night. Great place for a date indeed or a nice evening out with friends.

Tapas don’t come better than this ! This restaurant will make you feel like you’re in Spain. It’s family owned and run by the most incredibly friendly and attentive bunch, I think they can actually read your mind. If you’re a seafood lover, the boquerones fritos(deep fried white bait) will blow you away, not to mention the calamari and prawns. Still, the chorizo is may favourite — save the bread to clean up all that naughty fat & cider in the pan ! It’s really buzzing over the weekend and you need to reserve a table. Still, it’s great to sit at the bar … you’ll see the stuff in action and it’s great fun. Tapas are freshly cooked and come quickly, which is perfect if you want to share nibbles over a much larger quantity of booze … by the way, the sangria is to die for and I really mean it. Best in Clapham …

El Rincon Latino has been around for many years and has been owned and run by the same spanish family all along. It can go months between our visits, but the staff always recognise us(or at least make us believe they do!) and could not be more welcoming! I have to admit that it’s lost a bit of its old charm since they enlarged the place a few years ago, but the service and food are great. It’s not the place to go for a quiet intimate dinner as it’s pretty noisy, but that adds to the atmosphere. Our faves on the menu: calimari, meatballs. Very busy towards the end of the week and weekends, so always best to book.

I took a girl that I liked on a third date here some three years ago. We’re still going out today. This is a great place to take a woman if you want her to take your calls in future. The lighting is subdued and it creates an atmospheric restaurant. The food is brilliant; it’s all light tapas dishes that you can share. Try the sausages, the seafood and remember to order some vegetables so that you don’t get a heart attack. It’s a remarkably cheap restaurant for being so central in Clapham. It also beats the stuffing out of the Mexican place on the high street. Remember to drink lots of red wine here, it’s that kind of place.

El Rincon is a fabulous little Latin American restaurant. The tapas is yummy, the service is friendly and it’s not too pricey either, for the location. If you don’t fancy tapas, thepaella is lovely too, though it takes a while to cook. The lighting’s very romantic — great for birthdays and dates. There’s a nice selection of wine, beer or jugs of Sangria. My boyfriend actually took me here on our second date and we’re still going out three years later, so it must have done something right. I haven’t been for a while, but, writing this, it’s brought back memories and I’ll have to go again soon.

An authentic, vibrant Spanish tapas restaurant/bar. Having been recommended this place independently by quite a few people I booked this place for a first date with someone! It’s tucked away in Clapham but it was really busy when we went so I’m guessing word of mouth keeps the punters flowing. It has a buzzing atmosphere inside and you can either sit at the bar or there are lots of table toward the back. The food is really tasty and the service is excellent. There is a wide variety of choice on the menu and the prices are reasonable. We paid about £40 for a jug of sangria, a couple of glasses of wine(2 or 4 I can’t remember!) and about six tapas to share between us plus some olives. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

As you know I like Tapas, and I would describe this restaurant and functional not fantastic. Good value, not particularly authentic and reltively tasty for the price. Great for a night out with frinds in a party or quick snack with the other half over a bottle of Rioja. So definaly try, do not avoid it just dont over expect from it.
