We had a great time eating at the Elgar before a Proms concert. They have a pre fixe menu that is very reasonable and the food is excellent. The service was great, they are all about getting you to your concert on time, plus they are friendly and attentive. The wine selection is varied and reasonably priced… options from France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and Argentina. One nice thing is that you can order food or wine for during the interval, or you can finish your dessert or wine from dinner, they will hold it for you. Fun gourmet dining with a fun ambiance!

One would think that eating inside the Royal Albert Hall would be expensive, fancy dull and just for the finest of people. It was not — it was great! For a great price at only 26GBP we got a three course dinner, with some lovely service and great taste. And a nice selection of vegetarian alternatives. And we didn’t have time to have dessert before the show started, so the waitress just said«Just leave your coats in our wardrobe and enjoy the show, and the dessert will be waiting for you in intermission». And so it did. They even saved our bottle of water with bubbles that we hadn’t finished! I would recommend the conneloni. A fair warning — they don’t tell you it’s chili in it, but for those of use who like spicy food it was marvelous! Personally I am looking forward to coming back when someone plays the red grand piano in the restaurant. Seems like a perfect place for a music-food-delight. Getting to see Cirque du Soleis at Royal Albert Hall wasn’t bad either ;)
