Popped into here for mid morning break from training session in the area. Basically because it was the closest! Cute little café with a selection of hot and cold drinks pastries, muffins, cookies, sandwiches etc. I grabbed a quick hot chocolate which was super hot. I’m not complaining mind you as all too often hot chocolates are tepid at best. Also filled the gap in my belly with a buttered croissant oh and a bottle of water for later. £3.50 please! Huh? £3.50. I suppose having come from purchasing such items in the city, this felt like a total bargain. Croissants all round give one to all and it still would have felt cheap! The café is not big but nicely decorated. Comfy seats and a nice place to sit and have you snack, breakfast or lunch I say. I think I may try lunch next time. Lady serving was a little light on change and given this is a cash only abode, had I not been in such a good mood with my bargain snack, could have been irritated having to wait for her to visit the other shops in order to give me change. Croissant was delish by the way, lovely and buttery mmmm

Not quite sure how long this café has actually been here as it’s fairly easy to miss. The area under the Westway flyover at this end of Portobello Road is quite dark, and at weekends the window facing is green is hidden by market traders. Café Eve is on my way to work, and I’ve stopped by a few times for my morning caffeine fix. It’s a lot more cosy insdie than the exterior suggests and I am sure it does well on the main market days at the weekend when the area is buzzing. It’s not quite exciting enough for a special trip though.
