Well, well, well ce petit endroit est charmant.

Mmmmm coffee! A delightful flat white and the café itself is lovely. Relaxed and just the right amount of hipster, a gem in this area. Breakfast menu looks mighty tempting too. A great stop on your way to the museums nearby.

Really great little place! Considering its location, the sandwiches are well priced and very delicious! A good selection of cakes too! Good atmosphere but make sure you are here early to get a seat!

Came in for a latte and a quick bite after touring the V&A and the natural history museum all day. Really yummy, fast, and a great people watching spot. The bread was as good as it’s hyped up to be! Sit outside of possible when the weather is nice!

Stopped here for a quick bite after a visit to the V & A. We went to sit in the inner dining room — as the outside one was completely occupied — but tables hadn’t been cleaned and the floor too was quite a mess. This was quite early in the evening — about 6pm. But it seemed like the location was understaffed. The cakes looked interesting and they have a huge range of cured meats, but we were in the mood for something piping hot and fried eggs /cheese wasn’t enough. So we had some hot coffee and moved on to Daquise. This is a good place for a summer day and we will go back to one of their other locations for drinks and tapas.

Schon ein Sandwich essen, die Leute beobachten und aus schmutzigen Weingläsern etwas trinken. Einfach klasse!!!

Snooty, unwelcoming service. Typical of London, but i’d expected better after reading the reviews here. Disappointed.

I’m actually going to review something other than the coffee here. Shocking, I know, but let’s do this. We were in the area to do a cocktail tasting at the Gore Hotel and needed a quick bite to eat. We could have gone with terrible Chinese food, but thought the idea of bad egg rolls and good cocktails might actually kill us. There was Fernandez & Wells and meats sound like a win. This place IS known for their coffees, but I did not try it, being late at night. Instead, I went right for their menu, which basically is a long list of cured and delicious meats that you can try. Most come just as a platter of food, but a few come in sandwich form. I got the omelette and chorizo, Yum. Amazing meat, well made eggs, good thick bread. I wish the sandwich had a little bit more — veggies, even a sauce(they didn’t even have Tabasco which would have really kicked it up nicely) but for a very basic £5 sandwich, I was impressed. The service is fast and friendly and our waitress was lovely. Even when we were running late and had to ask if there was any way they could make ours move a little faster, they didn’t blink an eye. Thanks Fernandez & Wells for giving us just what we wanted before moving on.

First encountered this place when a friend took me into the one in Soho, but since then one appeared in South Kensington where I am often to be found in the summer months. Love the coffee and food; and the vibe is perfect. A lot of love has obviously gone into this and I was there early one morning and saw someone who I think was the owner coming in and checking everything out and chatting to the staff. The seats outside in the paved area of south ken are lovely if you can get one.

I’ve been here twice and the coffee was top notch both times. I would not, however, go for their deli. I know they’re going for the rustic look or whatever(and I’ve seen other places do this too *cough* Shoreditch Grind *cough*), but leaving out baguettes filled with meats and cheeses really isn’t hygienic.

I came here to grab a coffee and a quick bite before heading to the Royal Albert Hall to watch the National Brass Band competition.(The things I do for my husband…) It was early. It was a Saturday. And I needed coffee. Luckily Fernandez & Wells was there to save the day. I went in and ordered a filter coffee and an almond croissant. It was about 9:30 on a Saturday I think. Now unfortunately, they were a bit disorganized. There was apparently no money in the till. A bit weird. So I had to wait a bit to pay and get my change(all I had was a twenty). Also the filter coffee wasn’t ready yet, so they apologized and offered me an Americano instead. I went for a cappuccino. It was a bit unfortunately they didn’t have the filter, it’s my favorite way to drink coffee. That being said, the coffee was quite tasty and the almond croissant was heavenly(and it definitely made me decide that cro-nuts are just plain silly, and the hybrid is not as good as the originals). The food they were cooking when I arrived smelled amazing as well. So if I’m ever in South Ken in the morning and want a bite or a coffee, I’ll be heading here instead of the terrible chains that float around. Unfortunately, I’m not too sure when that will be…

I avoided the coffee this time and instead in the sweltering London heatwave(32 C in my office), I dived straight into their enticing bowl of ICECOLDGAZPACHOSOUP Forget hot weather being an excuse for adults to eat Magnums and Mini-Milks. If you really want to cool down with something delicious and refreshing then a bowl of the icy Spanish soup is what you need. De-lic-ee-uos But nearly £5 with only 3 little slices of sourdough? :cough-cough:mark-up:

I’ll admit I got overly excited about the prospect of a decent coffee shop in SK, and 4* is more appropriate given the prices; however, I still come in a couple of times a week for coffee. There have been some really decent filter coffees on recently(although they are quite expensive, considering they’re not brewed on the spot), and the staff are friendly as ever.

Just dropped by after a musuem visit, and i loved the décor and floor to ceiling window. Coffee was ok, a little pricey, but it goes with the location. The staff were super nice.

Coffee was too small and lukewarm. Shame as the cake was rather tasty.

I love Fernandez & Wells(despite having thought it was Ferdinand & Wells for ages), and was really excited when one opened near me. This location is unfortunately a bit slower than their Soho spots, possibly because of the location near the museums, but also because the space isn’t as inviting. Café Brindisa across the Exhibition Rd is far livelier, but it is both a full restaurant and has a patio. The coffee, and cakes are great for a nice snack during the day, as are the meats and cheeses. It’s a great place to catch up with(sophisticated) friends for a glass of wine or excellent Alhambra beer(I go to dump pubs with most of my people). La Dee Dah!
