If, like me, you are unfortunate enough to have trouble with your eyes, you will be as fatigued as I when it comes to sorting those exorbitant optometry bills. Luckily, I have discovered this training centre for the profession, a department of City University, up the road in Farringdon, where drastically reduced rates can be had for service which is as good as anything I have experienced in private clinics. Facilities are modern and the reception service is particularly good in reminding you of your next scheduled check-up and of the results of your tests. The only conceivable drawback is that when you are booked in for an eye test, the students ask that they practise on all of the machinery and methods available to them, which means staying around for some tests you don’t necessarily need. You are also asked to fill in a short feedback form at the end. But it’s a small price to pay for saving big on those expensive eye bills.
