This place is used during the day as a rehearsal space and over the years has played host to some incredibly successful talent. Nowadays the club remains at the epicentre of ground-breaking and up-and-coming artists and groups, generally in the fields of indie, techno, electro, nu-rave and the like. This means that if you’re lucky enough to turn up on a night when there isn’t a private party booking you’re more than likely to hear something new and possibly spectacular. The venue itself is pretty low-key and the interior is grimy as hell. Inside it feels like steptoe’s house, only less cluttered, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it hasn’t seen a vacuum cleaner for a good many years. Don’t let this put you off though, the drab interior only serves to place the focus squarely on the music, and we all love a bit of grime. Would have been five stars but for its insistence on private affairs but persevere music lovers, it’s worth the wait.
