Super friendly staff. Huge portions. Easy walk from where I was staying with friends. I jokingly tell them to tell George hello every time they say they’re going for fish and chips.

Huge amount! And kind staffs :)
Cod & chips with coke = £7.10 for almost double portion snack. Not a double portion meal but if you have tiny stomach unlike mine, you could share with someone as well.

Fish and chips that are exactly as fish and chips should be. Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but should a fish and chips place look like much from the outside? Probably not. My only issue is I always arrive late and they’ve got less food but I guess this is becuase people are buying it. Anyway there you go

Looks pretty shoddy from the outside, as do most places around the Chippenham, but this is a proper authentic London chippy who do a great cod and chips. Huge portions too, although don’t expect much change from £7. Finally it might just be one of my booze addled delusions, but If my memory serves me correctly the walls used to be covered in a classy selection of East Enders actors portraits — never did work that one out…

We call it the Shirland Road chippy — didn’t realise it was called Georges until just now. I work nearby and we pop out for chips here on a Friday sometimes and the chips are the best around! The staff are lovely, chatty and friendly and they serve you fast too. Everything is cheap but tastes great. I sometimes get the chicken too which is very crispy and deep fried but not too bad for the price! A lovely local chip shop!
