Great Indian food, a little too spicy for my taste although i asked them to make it a little mild, but the freshness is excellent.

Pretty much a standard Indian curry. It was nice, but nothing special. I had the Tikka Masala, while my friend has the Fish Curry. I give it 3 stars because, it didn’t taste much different to takeaway curries I get quite often, and it’s triple the price. There was nothing that really made me go «MMMM!». The host/waiter’s service was good.

Mediocre food, bad service that takes forever. I ordered my food and waited for a LONG time. When I asked about it, the waiter(who, apparently was also the Manger) said«every one is very busy». Great response to a customer. Even my check took more than 30 minutes to be delivered. And they added 30% service charge to the bill! The nerve! Well never visit this place again. Absolutely the worst experience!

Checked out this Indian Restaurant in the Knightsbridge area on my recent visit to London. We came based on recommendations from some locals and they did not steer us wrong. Overall the food was amazing from the samosas to the Chicken Tikka Masala. Everything we sampled was very tasty and it was a treat to be able to see one of the chefs actually making the chicken and naan in the tandoor ovens. My only grip and what kept this review from being a 5 star was that service was a bit slow and at times we were left waiting for water or someone to come around to take our order or get the check.

We went to Haandi in a group of 4. It was my friend’s suggestion who works at Harrods across the street. The place is casual and the ambiance is average. The most positive part is its food. Try Chicken Tika Masala and Lamb Vindaloo.

Excellent Indian food — probably the best bhindi bhaji I have had in London. The curries are great, the lamb is succulent and I’ve heard the mint tea is divine. On top of this the servers are jovial and they serve Indian beer! I keep coming back :)

Great little place we found across from Harrods. the food was scrumptious. My wife who is not a big Indian cuisine person loved the chicken Tikka Masala. I had a very spicy chicken dish(forgot the name) that was delicious. Naan was fantastic. Relatively expensive.

This was a very satisfying meal. I’ve eaten Indian food in many countries and the food was authentic. The flavors were good and the restaurant was fairly friendly to family with children(as we were a 2+2). The service was good for European standards as well. The only drawback was the price — recognizing this is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in London, we sort of expected to pay 60 Gbp for dinner(no alcohol). Price kept us from trying what would ordinarily be a handful of different lesser-expensive side dishes. Recommendation is to portion the menu to allow for more sampling a of smaller dishes– perhaps pair-up some of the side dishes or offer«choice of 2» options. The food was great but would have liked to go a little deeper in the menu.

Great little casual spot. Locals and tourists a like. The wine list is limited, but the food menu is extensive at reasonable prices. The service was good — my husband and I have limited knowledge of Indian food and our waiter made great suggestions for us. We enjoyed each dish he recommended. I will warn to be careful of the heat level when ordering — medium is quite spicy! Lastly, as a vegetarian, they offered many selections. Overall good experience.

Has a very bad case of «Indian restaurant syndrome» whereas the staff are under the mistaken belief that their restaurant is fancy. Consequently, the service, while not bad, is a bit uppity; the manager in particular suffers from delusional self importance. The décor reinforces just how far this restaurant has succumbed to IRS. I can excuse the palm trees, but a glass enclosed kitchen to watch cooks prepare standard curry is a bit too far, these poor guys have lost the plot. The curry, however, is very good in a very British way, which is obviously the best way to enjoy it — chicken was meant to swim in a buttery tomato concoction. Great fluffy naan, nice not too spicy vindaloo, and Cobra on tap — I’m sold. Maybe if I had made a reservation getting a table wouldn’t have incited such emotion, but calling ahead to eat at a curry house? I just don’t live my life that way.

We are here on our last night in London. The two entrances was a little confusing but they were very welcoming when we went inside. The food was delicious– we got Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo Gobi with rice and naan. The spice was perfect for us and the naan was especially good. The staff was friendly and they seemed really accommodating to the large birthday celebration also in the restaurant. There was also a window to the kitchen, which we thought was neat.

In short: I loved the food but did not really feel an Indian vibe inside. Coming in Haandi was a great opportunity for me to revisit my long-forgotten love to Indian food and it’s spicy dishes. We were greeted nicely and put to our table almost immediately. I liked that the staff knew their place and I didn’t have to beckon them through the whole evening. The waiter knew when he was needed and also understood the food in a way to explain it to a simple non-indian foodie like me. The meals were great, came out quickly but we didn’t felt rushed to leave. It was all really delicious and the whole party was well full on curry-spiced bits of heaven. The only thing that put me off and made me lower my rating was the crammed feel of the whole restaurant and a tad too-ordinary choices in pots and plates. However, I might have been too stressed that night so anything would have irritated me and it should not divert you from visiting Haandi.

Good honest Indian. Clean. Well maintained. Friendly service. Rich curries like I like. Meats in curries could be a little more tender.

I would rather have Saffron in LA than this anyway. Slow service, mediocre-low quality food, and expensive. 50 pounds for 2 entrees, side of rice, and veggie rolls. Skip it.

When in London, this is a must! Conveniently located on Cheval Place, on a side Street in close proximity to Harrod’s. Very good and consistent food! Probably our favourite Indian restaurant worldwide, we have been to hundreds of Indian eateries. They curries are excellent, their Jumbo Prawn appetizer is out of this world and their Tandoori is always hot, sizzling and tender straight from the kitchen. Also, full bar and has capacity to house parties in a secluded room for those who seek a private area.

Yummy! We stopped in after *window* shopping at Harrods. The pappadum was great, as were the meat samosas! Wish we had something like this at home!

When my family reunited in London we met for a late dinner at Haandi. I know it was late because my sister-in-law and I didn’t get back from Harry Potter Studios( ) until close to 10. There were ten of us meeting up; I’m sure the restaurant staff had no idea what was about to descend upon their quiet little establishment. We ordered a few appetizers for the table. Several plates of naan(garlic & plain) and multiple dishes for everyone to share. Many of us ordered based on what the waiter recommended which was the right way to go, but it unfortunately means I have no idea what we actually had. A couple curries, lamb, prawns, chicken. Just a wide variety. It was all very good and I would definitely go back. Learned a new trick to ask for a bowl of yogurt. It makes everything creamy, cools down the spice and just adds a nice layer of flavor to the dish. While it may not be a ‘new’ trick, it was new to me.

O! M!G! Ok so everyone in the States has been telling me to eat the Indian food in London… I was skeptical. Then upon arriving here, the concierge at the Mandarin Oriental recommended some high end Indian place, but my doorman(whom I adore there) pointed me here — holy SH%% this place is good. The people are so sweet, and the food is just amazing. I ordered everything off the vegetarian menu, and the explosion of flavors sit very well on my palate! Try this place!

Now, being Indian, for me, indian food has to be something special when I’m paying for it, unless its a ‘curry house’,(and there is a difference), in which case, I expect milder food and loads of cream, like when i used to go out with my mates as a teenager! However, when you’re at a restaurant in Knightsbridge, you would expect something of a higher quality. Came here on a ‘double date’, after a Unilocal event no less. The service was pretty good, our guy being really friendly, chatty and nice, despite us being a little noisy(that’ll be free wine at the aforementioned event!)(which is kinda why I’ve gone up to 4 stars). Food was ok, my wife liked the Egg curry, though I thought my saag lamb was a bit lacking in lamb. in hindsight, perhaps I should have gone for the more traditionally spicy dishes. I thought the sundries(yoghurt, naans, rice) were quite good though(the other reason for 4 stars).

Looking for some quality Indian Cuisine among the infinite options in London? Look no further friend, for Haandi has come to the rescue. Star 1 — How was the service and atmosphere? Tucked away to the point where you’ll likely miss it upon first pass, Haandi provides an extremely comfortable dining atmosphere whether you’re in for a drink and quite bite after work or are just out with some family or friends. With extremely friendly service complimenting an array of table sizes that can easily accommodate any party, I was thoroughly impressed with Haandi even before sitting down. To top it off, my party of three were served in under 15 minutes. Star Granted. Star 2 — How were the portions relative to the cost? For around £12 — £15 each, my party of three opted to go with a combination of garlic na’an, two large portions of white rice, and two large dishes of tikka masala and lamb vindaloo to share between us. While £30+ may seem like a lot, the portions we were served were absolutely massive, and at the end of the meal we were all so stuffed that arguments ensued over who would have the task of finishing the rice! Excellent Value. Star Granted. Stars ¾ — How was the food? Since I’ve now been back in United States for several months after leaving London, I can honestly say that I dream of my meal at Haandi. With each dish customizable as to how spicy you want it, I was absolutely blown away by both the quantity and diversity of flavors that were in both the Chicken Tikka Masala and the spicy Lamb Vindaloo. Additionally, the Garlic Na’an was absolutely brilliant. Without a doubt in my mind, Haandi dished up some of the best Indian cuisine that I’ve ever had. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5 — Would you eat it every day if you could? Yes, yes and yes. Regardless of whether you’re new to Indian food or a seasoned vet, Haandi is worth a visit regardless of how long you’re staying or living in London. I would personally pay for the owner’s airfare if he or she were willing to come and open a Los Angeles location. Star Granted.
