Though the prices are often on the inflated side of expectation, I’m still a fan of Habitat. They always have a selection of sale items near the front and deals on quirky little one-offs can often be found. This location has the bonus of lots of natural light through huge windows that really showcase the furniture. As we’re currently setting up our new home, a wander around the shop is particularly nice to get ideas, but I enjoy coming in here even when we don’t need any homewares as it’s just fun and pretty!

Still going strong and still somehow capturing some of the original ethos. Founded in 64′ by Terence Conran. Habitat was a revolution in the UK hight street, so my groovy parents tell me. Somehow something of the original ethos still remains making Habitat different from the rest of the high street. A kind of designer slightly more expensive Ikea on the high street. Not a great advertising strap line but reasonably on the money. I like them.

This is my favourite Habitat store in the whole of London for many reasons. Firstly the layout, it’s so spacious I find it a pleasure to shop in. The lighting department always has an exciting range of inspiring designs. The staff are super helpful in here, I would go as far as to say that they would bend over backwards to help you. In particular a sales assistant called Padraig who went out of his way to help me on a few occasions i have been in here looking for something specific. The sales are great in here and sometimes they have events where they invite their costumers in for cocktails and give out free gifts. I once got a hot pink BBQ bucket which has since turned black cause one of my lovely flatmates threw it in the fire one night. Opus.
