Feeling hungry after a long day exploring, I decided to check out this place. I got a large chicken Shwarma for around 4 pounds. It was a decent Shwarma, though nothing exceptional. The reason for the negative review is that the people working there got into a loud shouting match with some guy. This ended with one of the employees shouting«**** your country» as the guy left the store. Now, I definitely do not expect any sort of service at a cheap Shwarma place, but that was a bit much. I won’t visit again.

5 pounds gives you some lamb curry and rice in a little take away plastic box. Pretty good sized and filling for dinner. I like that this place is open late too.

Not sure if it was because I was hungry, but at 1230am halal curry & fish and chips was what the doctor ordered. Large portions and very satisfying. Reasonably priced. The perfect midnight snack.

After mourning the closing of Bilal, my favourite place to get a lamb shawarma, I discovered the plainly-named Halal Restaurant on Queensway. It really is no-frills, but the food was lovely. Their lamb shawarma was tasty, tender and had been marinaded well — delicious. I had their lunchtime deal of a regular shawarma, chips and a drink for £5.50. As I ate in the restaurant, I was given a free plate of pickled vegetables which were also very tasty. Next time I’ll try the shawarma with rice. The service was functional, as the first review says, but I’ll definitely go there again.

Halal does a restaurant and takeaway kebab service. I go to Taza across the road for my takeaway kebab needs but occasionally dine here at Halal if I want a sit down meal. There is the usual array of Mediterranean dips with pitta. Then a choice of assorted grilled meats. Some nice fruit juices to accompany the meal. It’s OK Middle Eastern food at a reasonable price

This is an arabic/egyptian restaurant in Queensway which is lacking in eye-catching décor. Their menu was varied but their prices seemed to be quite high compared to other restaurants in the area. They offer a selection of small dishes to be shared between people or individual main dishes, as well as sandwiches and wraps. The portions of the dishes, like the taste, was average and did not manage to impress at all. The food tasted mass-made and didn’t have any special qualities that made it stand out. The staff weren’t too friendly, but they weren’t rude. However, the service seemed quite slow, and my impressions of the restaurant lowered even further when there was an ant crawling on the bread. I would not recommend this restaurant to others, as there are better ones around that offer a higher quality of food, as well as better value for money.
