I live right near King’s Cross, yet somehow I only just came across this place! The baristas are very friendly — their tip jar asks for tips saying that the their parents think they are barristers, which I found hilarious. The place itself is very spacious and gets a lot of natural light. However, there are very few to no outlets. The food generally gets bad reviews, but I’ve only tried the pastries and they are quite alright; the croissant is nice and flaky. The coffee itself is pretty good, though admittedly a bit overpriced. They also offer almond milk, which is a plus. All in all, this is a great spot to do work if you don’t need an outlet due to the ample seating and free wifi, and I definitely will continue to come back often.

Stopped here for a quick bite and a tea, we should had choose more carefully. The place is nice, but the quality of tea was rather suboptimal, and their decision to serve tea in a tall glass with a tea infuser in it without any place where to put it while drinking the tea is just stupid. Foodwise, nothing great nothng bad: we had a quesadilla which was a 2.5÷5, just mediocre. Considering the number of coffee shops in London, you can definitely find something better!

Quiet coffee place close to king s cross. A bit overpriced. The dishes are not exceptional and the cakes are not so fresh but there is a range of different teas — black, green and white — and the papaya tea is the best, sweet and fruity.

Has all the trappings of a third wave coffee shop but totally fails to deliver on the actual coffee. My flat white was nigh on undrinkable; poorly extracted and wound up half finished in a bin down the road. Avoid.

One of may favourite cafés in the area, particularly due to the choice of sweet and savoury food — pastries, croissants, sandwiches and soups — as well as nice coffee, a good selection of teas, soft drinks and beers. I particularly like the space and the atmosphere, plain but lovely furniture and beautiful wall paintings. The staff is always courteous and service is good. It is also a good place to stop at if you want to work or study, with free wi-fi. I would recommend going there if you are in the St. Pancras/Euston station area.

This is a pretty nice place located a hop and skip from Kings Cross. It has most of the standard ingredients of a modern coffee shop: decent looking food, pleasant staff, mixed tables, for individuals or larger groups, a light and airy feel, trendy mural on the wall, handwritten signage, and a chilled out vibe. Unfortunately, besides the rock ‘ard seats, what disappointed on my visit was the coffee. They use Nude beans which should provide a sound basis for an espresso based drink, I’ve bought them myself, but to be honest my flat white was sour and under extracted to a marked degree. This is a ‘barista’ issue where the basics of extraction, setting up the grinder and espresso machine right and keeping on top of things, are not attended to in the way they should. They go to the extra cost and trouble of selecting decent beans but then screw up exactly where it matters! My companion had a breakfast tea which arrive in a glass with a side of milk and she enjoyed it, tho there was no side plate to put the tea bag on, so I gave her my coffee saucer! Next time I’ll have a tea too I reckon. So, nice place, many right pieces of the jigsaw in place, but careless in the final analysis. Can do better, so will visit again when next in the area.

+ A pleasant café with good food near St. Pancras/British Library + Away from the noisy main street(Euston Rd) Half Cup is a café on Judd Street, near St. Pancras/British Museum that serves brilliant food. Situated on Judd Street, roughly 5 minute walk from St. Pancras station, this relatively new café has large windows and nice pastry as you walk in. When I went in to the café for a rather late lunch on a weekday, a pleasant member of staff informed me that hot food was all finished and that they only had sandwiches and pastries on display and soups. Having perused the display, I ordered a focaccia with hummus, cheese and beetroot as this looked like the most filling option of all. In fact, it turned out not only filling in portion but also quite satisfying in taste too. The toasted focaccia was moist inside and had a hint of rosemary and other herbs I couldn’t identify. It turned out hummus and beetroot, which I initially found to be a funny combination, went very well together. The finely sliced beetroot added subtle sweetness and juiciness to the rich texture of hummus. The large white walls inside the café were decorated with delightful illustrations of birds and flowers. This pleasant café is ideal for a tea break or lunch when you find yourself in the area.
