I cannot believe the ratings for this sandwich shop, it is in my opinion the best sandwich shop in Islington. FOr Example, If you order chicken escalope sandwich, there must be a whole chicken inside the bap, if you order a minted lamb sandwich, i swear there is half a sheep inside two slices of bread!!. The portions are HUGH and i do mean HUGH!!. The price is of superb value, staff are friendly and polite. There are numerous sandwich/bap/bread combinations which would please vegans, vegetarians and carnivores!!. They do soups(god, try the lentil soup. hmmmmmm), they do Paella which is first class as well. Trust me, try it and you will go back, I DO… HIGHLYRECOMMENDED.

Harry’s is exactly what a sandwich bar should be. It’s a small little local shop hidden in plain sight on busy Upper Street. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide array of options available to me. Being a sandwich man, I could not believe the number of possiblities I had at my disposal. I opted for the prawn and avocado on a panini. It was heaven. A more than ample layer of prawns, avocado that was freshly sliced before my eyes and fresh salad all piled onto a ~10 inch bread loaf. All for only £4! I can definitely say that Harry’s has stolen me away from the larger, chain sandwich shops on Upper Street. The bad parts: Their menu was a little outdated. The first thing that I ordered was no longer available. Also, there is no seating inside. There are a few tables outside, but it is definitely a take-away establishment. But still, it doesn’t get much better than Harry’s.

Fast, friendly, and good food. It’s a small spot at the end of upper St. Looks like most food is prepared in the morning or the day before. Very fresh tasting. It seems like it is owned by a Spanish couple, so there is a bit of Spanish influence in the food, obviously. I got the feeling that a number of people who work in the area frequent the little shop for lunch. It’s worth stopping by if you are ever in the area.
