Harry’s Bar

This place is a regular spot for post-​work drinks in the city — show up after 5pm for what always seems to be a good-​looking crowd of suits.
The immediate bar area fills up quickly but the downstairs usually has more room. Added benefit here is that a chirpy waitress will come to collect coats and take your order from wherever you park yourselves, and they’re actually quite efficient at this than at other bars I’ve been to that try this ordering method (hence the 4^th star for me).
There’s a good amount of standing room with some seated booth areas reservable along the sides (also a smoking room in the corner — don’t see those very much these days). You can go as high-​rolling as you like, all the way up to spirits by the bottle and a cigar list, but I enjoyed making my way through the sexy cocktail menu. Also have some v good bar snacks for when it gets to that point in the evening when you need some non-​liquid sustenance…
My personal plus as an almost-​6ft-​woman is that the average height of the guys in here seems to be noticeably above average! Ahem. My personal health warning though (whilst not wanting to sound like your mum) is that they play the music way too loud, at least on a thurs/​fri when they have the DJ in. So as long as a D&M chat isn’t your priority, you should have fun!

The scallops to start were delicious. I was expecting scallops on top of a salad, and it only had three spinach leaves and two slices of tomato. Very delicious (mm that red pepper sauce!) but definitely on the sparse side.
The duck entrée again was tasty. I loved the barley and vegetables, but the duck was a little tough for my liking. We had chips and spinach on the side. Both were done well.
Overall a lovely experience. The waitress was friendly and service was good.

I have been visiting London for a few days now and this is by far the best meal I’ve had so far.
Our waitress was extremely professional and informative. I decided to order the pork belly served with miscellaneous vegetables, as beef would have been the obvious choice for this Texas girl, so I thought I’d change it up a bit :)
The pork belly was fabulous. Great flavors and cooked to perfection.
The vegetables were perfectly cooked as well, not overcooked into mush like many other vegetables I’ve had while in London.
Overall it was a great experience!
