Hash E8

We had a sweets & beats hash with bacon, which was tasty and satisfying. Must have been a huge portion because split between two plates along with a couple of sides was enough for us. Hash browns were super crispy & tasty. Naughty soldiers (specials menu) was like crispy French toast fries. They were good, but hash browns were better. Overall another great breakfast option in Dalston.

I’ve just arrived in London. It may seem late to you but to me it feels like breakfast time. I wanted eggs, and my son knew just where to send me. Funky atmosphere with Bob Marley playing welcomed us in. Service was prompt and efficient.
I had the special one lot of the day, it came with cheese and onions. I don’t like onions so asked fro broccoli, which they didn’t have. But they did have my second choice of tomatoes. It was really delicious and came with crispy potatoes and a bit of salad that went well with it all.
The coffee is a bit weak, but I understand this isn’t the states. Overall a good breakfast place, any time of day.

Really, an excellent place for brunch.
We were in the area and hungry and needed somewhere to go and this was the spot. I had seen it before but never stopped in and that was my mistake, because this is an excellent place for an excellent meal.
We tried the Piggy Bun, which was a nice take on a breakfast sandwich, and the pulled pork hash, which was damn delicious with some sauce on top and a crunchy side of crackling. We also did excellent sides like some hash brown tots (which were like crunchy round tater tots served in a tiny bucket) and one slice of French Toast. I love any place that will do one slice of French Toast so I don’t have to do the whole order but can still try the sweet. Huzzah for the sweet.
My only issue is they were incredibly understaffed, I mean by at least two or three people, so everything took forever. Waiting to be sat, being sat, ordering our food, getting our food, anything. And it was kind of chaos with one waitress running around trying to do the whole spot.
But I will give them another chance because the food, amazing, and if they’ve solved the staffing issue, I’ll update for the full five.

I kept passing this in the local area and finally decided to pop in for Bank holiday brunch. It didn’t take me long to see that I had clearly underestimated the popularity of this little café. We had to put our name on a list and due to lack of space, wait outside until a table became available. Luckily it was sunny and 15 to 20 minutes later, we were in!
The atmosphere was thankfully very relaxed and the clientele was a good mix of old school locals, hard core hipster and families with little ones. Great for keeping your head low so you can scoff your giant meal down in peace.
Service was little slow due to the Bank holiday being the busy period and limited staff (as evidenced by the help wanted sign in the widow) but the lady that served us handled this all surprisingly well all things considered. The kitchen staff also seemed to be a well oiled machine. All our dishes (three mains plus additional sides) came out piping hot and beautifully presented, all at the same time! So good I suddenly forgot how long I had been waiting for them and thanks to the great portion sizes, I left a happy, sleepy bunny.
Star of the show was definitely the Piggy bun and the french toast but the pulled pork has was also really good. I’ll definitely be back to try the boozy shakes, so watch this space!

Cute and unpretentious café atmosphere, frequented by families and the hungover. Plenty of choice on the menu fairly evenly divided between sweet and savoury.
The portion sizes are generous. My friend ordered pancakes and got a huge stack of fluffy American-​style deliciousness. Other pals had the benedict hash, with homemade hash browns and poached eggs.
I opted for the sweet beet hash — beetroot, sweet potato cubes, tonnes of kale and two poached eggs drenched in hollandaise sauce. Boy, it was huge.
Great value, sweet local café made for soaking up a bad head or simply nourishing the soul.

I was surprised how subtly discreet this place was when I found it. Hidden along the middle of the road and quite small I had heard a lot about it from people I knew.
I had a bloody mary to start off with (well I did have a hangover) and it was one of the best I had in London so this visit was off to a go start. I had the brunch special which consisted of a poached egg on avocado and chilli jam and feta. This was incredible. I’ll forgive the slightly overcooked egg because the combination of all these flavours worked magically. I will definitely be back sooner rather than later.
This is now undoubtably my favourite East London spot to eat brunch at. Which is no mean feet with this hipster area having a great range of eateries. Fantastic.

Wonderful service. Though I only had a coffee here, stuff were all nice and I would definitely come back for food in the future. When I was stranded to look for a public phone, they let me use their phone and that saved my life.

Legit brunch food… full breakfast was tasty and service was friendly. Price is very wallet friendly. The pig muffin was massive and I can’t believe that I am saying this but too much pork. The slight down side for me were the hash browns, nothing wrong with them just not my favourite thing, think I will try the home fries instead next time. Location is a bit odd but wouldn’t be too hesitant to go back.

One of the harshest hangovers in the world required eggs immediately. The cure of the moment came in the form of Hash E8 and their pork-​driven menu.
It’s just ever-​so-​slightly out of the way in Dalston and you’ll find a nice little café with enough pork belly to feed an army.
Or just me.
I would give you recommendations, but it was all good really… there’s the hash benedict/​belly benedict which you can’t go wrong with. The pig muffin though… not for the faint of heart but if one whizzes by you before you get your own food and you’ve gotten something else… you’ll get food envy.
Great coffee, great service, great brunch.
