The food was great, but the service was terrible. Group of 4 for lunch on a weekday, so admittedly a busy time. One person ordered a starter platter, two ordered two-course meals, and one just a main. The starters arrived promptly, but the hummus came with no pita; when asked, they said they don’t have any. There’s bread you can get, but you have to continually ask them for it, and sometimes ask twice. The mains didn’t arrive for 40 or so minutes after the starters. The food was very good, although there wasn’t nearly enough rice for the amount of meat(and extra rice costs ~£3). Would give 4⁄5 if the service weren’t so horrid. Took an hour and 45 minutes from when we got seated to when we paid the bill.

Pretty good. The lamb shis and the kebab were great. Chicken was a bit dry but overall it was very satisfying. The meze plates looked very good next time i will try one. It is a good business lunch spot.

Turkish and Middle Eastern food. Great vegetarian menu as well. The lamb with couscous is to die for! The service is excellent and very friendly. The bar is well stocked and nicely complete. Good wine selection as well.

Interesting option as it is slightly different… Visited several times; the last visit was for lunch. We were a group of 8. Our table was ready when we arrived and our drinks promptly served. The food followed swiftly. The starters were delicious and very filling. Several of my fellow diners had the lamb which looked amazing. I settled for a fresh salad which did not disappoint. Overall I believe this establishment offers value for money and would visit again.

Just love this restaurant! Make it a point to visit every time I am in London. My favorite dish is the Lamb Shish. But everything I have had is very nice. The prices are really quite reasonable for what the restaurant is. Frankly you can have a nice sit down lunch with cloth table cloths for less than grabbing a pizza at pizza express.

I had Haz for a cater lunch at work — it was good, but catered food to me usually means it loses itself due to making the mass quantities of food. I know this from eating and cooking food at soup kitchens, a Fraternity house in University, and elsewhere. But after having a bit of a deadlock on where to have dinner with my friend, I then declared, let’s go to Haz for Med food. At the time, it was close to Christmas season, so lots of seasonal décor and food items were abound everywhere. We had one of those meals that you had choices based on tier — no much for ordering a la carte. I forgot some of the details of the dishes, but I will focus on what we’ve enjoyed: Hummus — nice and creamy, garlic and olive oil was really good Falafel — more chickpeas but in its nice and fried preparation Grilled salmon and chicken were nicely seasoned and cooked just right Veggies — browned perfectly with bit of seasoning too, yum Baklava with vanilla ice cream — Yum! ’nuff said! And the coffee to me was delicious — and I though I like drinking coffee, I am not a coffee aficionado. Didn’t need too much sweetener or cream at all. This place did serve us, even though we dressed casually — but it did seem if its a bit upscale, maybe a 4-star restaurant like. Regardless, we were treated well, and the wait service was very good as well. I’ll be coming back to Haz when back in London!

Haz is one of my favourite restaurants in the City, this particular incarnation has great views of St Paul’s Cathedral from the front. Julia D thought it would an expensive restaurant from the look and ambiance of the place but the mains are reasonably priced at around £12. I would recommend going with a large group and ordering a range of the starters to share before going heading to the main courses, that way showcases the best that Haz has the offer.

Food was ok. Not amazing but at the same time not bad. We started with the fixed price menu. Lots of appetizers and generally good. The main course we had the grill and lamb. Was nice. The service is very slow. Be prepared to wait.

One star rating for the interesting light fittings! Overworked table staff. Slow service. Xmas menu below average. Angry argumentative maitre’d(really just a «cash register jockey») refused to acknowledge or apologise that a mistake in the bill was their fault. Food without taste. Tables without service. Don’t bother.

Quick glance: + great taste + huge portion + outdoors seating — slow service Full review: Six of us came here for lunch to celebrate a colleague’s birthday and we were lucky to have an outside table to enjoy the last of the summer sun. Although Haz is a chain, the food has always come with consistent taste and flavours. The portion size is also very generous, so much so that I shared a main with a colleague(after the compulsory mixed mezzes, of course!). We did find the service a bit slow, perhaps not surprising given how huge the venue is. The fact we sat outside also meant we were slightly neglected, so it took quite a long time to order and to pay the bill.

Thankfully, this place was open late, as all the other mall restaurants closed by 10pm, with the kitchens closing slightly earlier. Something about this place was off though. The décor was nice and fancy, but the service was lacking. It felt like the place was trying too hard, but didn’t quite make it there. That being said, I liked that they had a dinner combo special for a salad and entrée for 11 pounds. I went with the tabouleh and chicken kabobs. Tabouleh was okay, but the kabobs were nice and tender.

Lamb tagine was excellent if a little difficult to eat. Suit coat is freshly dry cleaned as a result. :). Wine list was adequate if not overly interesting. Service and the setting were great. Olives on the table to start were perfect and set the tone for dinner.

Going downhill. Shame, it was perfect in the past. Not a cosy restaurant, just a big City restaurant. But service was excellent and food delicious. This has changed — just went twice within a week. Service depends a little bit, but still between very good and okay. But the food is tasteless these days. Still nice presented and fresh, but no flavours anymore.

Brilliant location, I have to say: from the front-part of the restaurant you have fantastic views of St. Paul’s Cathedral… you could just pretend that the dome belongs to the Hagia Sophia and you’d feel like you’re in istanbul! In fact, I came to Haz with a group of Turkish students to learn about Turkish cuisine, Turkish culture and the Turkish way-of-live…and what a better place to study these things while enjoying an authentic dinner. And authentic it was — that can even I as a Northern European say. I myself had the following things: Patlican Ezme — Pureed aubergine with lemon and sesame oil and Iskender — grilled lamb, chicken and köfte with yogurt and tomato sauce. I especially liked the Patlican Ezme as it was almost creamy and would melt in my mouth… What was less authentic though was the service, and this is actually why I’m only giving it three stars: in the beginning we were almost«harassed» to order, because the waitress would come by several times without us being ready to order.(Apparently, we were so immersed in our cultural studies that we completely forgot to look at the menu.) But then when we were ready to order, I had to waive like an air-traffic controller to get the attention of the staff. Plus, I didn’t feel like the staff was warm or hospitable and this is something, that you would not experience at a real Turkish restaurant — as was attested to me by my dining companions. Overall thus, I think the food-experience was good, but the business-like and too clean-cut interior made me not feel like I was in Istanbul after all…

I had a great meal here last week. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was a little nervous when I first saw the menu as I was not familiar with the dishes. I ordered the Borek as a starter – filo pastry filled with feta and spinich. It was the perfect choice. I also ordered the grilled chicken with rice and vegetables. The chicken was tender and I loved the taste of the rice. We ordered a bottle of Turkish wine. The value was good and I was impressed with the great service and the lovely dining room! We will return!

Was surprisingly pleased with this place in terms of quality of food and value. The hummus with lamb appetizer is really tasty, and it a large portion. The mixed grill was tasty, although the lamb was slightly undercooked. Really cheap wine list here as well. Nice place, tasty food, and great value. Will be back!

I had no idea there were so many Haz Restaurants about Town. Where have I been hiding? This is certainly a recent addition because it only opened a few months ago. This location is split in two — a proper restaurant side, with table linens, etc, and a café side with plenty of tables for big and small groups. The interior is almost cavernous, with high ceilings and huge windows. There are great views of St. Paul’s cupola, lots of natural light and air. I tried the café. The staff was friendly and helpful in describing all the food on offer, which looked appetising. I ordered a Turkish spinach pizza and two falafels. I was disappointed. The falafels were hard and dry so hard, in fact, that I had to use my fingers and bite it with my molars. That’s not what a falafel should feel like. The taste wasn’t bad, but I think the problem is that they were reheated in the microwave. The pizza was a bit bland, but not awful. The meal cost approximately £5. The space was so lovely though that I might just have to try it again(and that’s why it gets 2 stars).
