In the hearth of the city you can find one of the best restaurants not only to eat in but for collection as well. Very good service and excellent food! Recommendation: Mixed Grill

If you’re a big fan of grilled meat and great service don’t let the empty restaurant scare you off on a Saturday afternoon. This is great place to have a nice dinner with your spouse or even with your friends. It’s a fancy schmancy place with authentic Turkish dishes! Yummmm and their roséwine is fantastic too it’s tad bit pricey but well worth all the pounds!

Went here after visiting the Sky Garden and loved it! Delicious Turkish cuisine with excellent service, friendly, quick and efficient, right in he heart of the City. We chose the express meze menu which was only £12 and extremely delicious and filling — including all your usual meze favourites. Would highly recommend Haz and definitely would return. Make sure you book as we were astounded(yes *that* shocked!) at how quickly the place filled up at lunchtime with City folk.

I was staying nearby in a hotel and stumbled across this place. I went in, it was late but they were still serving, although I was the only customer so caouldn;t gauge the atmosphere. The food was very nice, and the wine I had was perfect for the meal. There was enough food, a bit pricey, but well worth it.

Came here with a friend for a quick bite after work(we both work in the City), and it’s great for a nice sit-down meal when you don’t want to splurge on something fancy. The restaurant is actually decorated in a quite upscale manner, compared to the St Paul’s and Liverpool Street locations. They had nice chandeliers and it felt like there was a lot of space between tables… definitely a different feel from going to a Zizzi or Nando’s. As for the food, we got bread and what seemed to be a tzatziki dip to the table. I didn’t love the dip and would have preferred hummus, but it was good all the same. I ordered the mixed grill and my friend ordered just the grilled lamb. The mixed grill had chicken and lamb, of which I think I preferred the chicken because it was very juicy. It came with a chili sauce that my friend says is sometimes very spicy and sometimes not at all; in this case, it was not at all, and I didn’t feel it added much to the meat. And the meat went well with the tzatziki sauce, so I kinda improvised and just used that instead of the chili. There were also grilled vegetables and rice, which were good but if you’re hungry, could be missable. Overall I was very impressed with the venue and the level of service, and the food was enjoyable although not particularly memorable. I don’t eat out often for casual meals, but if you do, then this is a very good option.

The hubby and I went here last night for dinner. It’s located in the financial district that’s pretty much a dead zone on the weekends. Haz was one of the only restaurants open in the area and we were happy to give it a try. We ordered the £23.95 option which was an assortment of starters, one main and dessert plus coffee. All of the starters were good, our entrees were good and the desserts were delicious. I had some apple tea — steeped just how I like it and my husband had coffee which(I think) he enjoyed. We also had two full glasses of wine each and my only regret was not getting the entire bottle as it was that good(and probably more economical than getting by it the glass). The place was pretty dead on a Saturday but that was due to the area and since service was not an issue, we did not mind having the place almost all to ourselves. Not sure if I’ll find myself in the financial area again but will definitely keep Haz and it’s other locations in mind the next time I’m crazing Turkish!

Our group had a craving for Turkish food, so Haz it was. I was nervous about getting to the restaurant in time for our reservation, but I needn’t be because it was a weeknight dinner and there was plenty of space! It is a comfortably large restaurant, decorated somewhat on the upscale side and with white tablecloths. We ordered and ate SOMUCH food. There were like 7 or 8 starters on the table, and most of them were very good — my favorites were the dolma(stuffed grape leaves) and tara masalata(basically a fish mousse). I got the vegetarian starter of fried aubergine with yogurt and tomato sauce, which was a risk for me because I dislike eggplant in about half the dishes I eat it in. I was apparently in a gambling mood. But this was a tasty dish, so win for Haz! The dessert was delicious too — the baklava was some of the best I’ve ever tried, gotta love pistachios, and I had a pastry stuffed with chestnut purée and walnuts, yum. It doesn’t get five stars because the service was decent, but could’ve been quicker(we just weren’t in a hurry) and though the food was yummy, it wasn’t mind-blowing. But I’m still a fan! All that stuff was so filling — I was full to bursting and could barely walk home. Good thing London does provide the opportunity to walk it off, though!

Haz is a small chain of classy Turkish restaurants in the east London area where the focus is only healthy Mediterranean style food including grilled meats. I’ve been to 2 of their locations which where both very large spaces with dark wood and dimmed lighting and where overall quite pleasant and relaxing. The food at this particular location was excellent, the service very good and the food not only delicious but relatively healthy too.

I HAZ a grand time :) All dorky jokes aside, we enjoyed ourselves for a tasty turkish treat. I believe the menu is Anatolian which is one of my fave types of Turkish foods. We started off with some prosecco to whet our palettes while being served some complimentary homemade bread, olives, and a yogurty dip. I love bread and this was no exception, the dip went well with the bread. We then went on to the 10,95 two course menu. Hubby had a chicken and vegetable soup, which was a perfect beginning to ward of the cold weather of the outside and I had the hummus. The hummus was a bit disapointing, very pasty and heavy on the sesame, which is a delicate balance. Mains: Lamb Tagine– almost fell off the bone and paired well with Pinot Noir. It was a tad sweet but good nonetheless Chicken Shish — Hardly anyone can do that wrong, and this place is no exception. Juicy and charred just the way I like it. Both came with rice. We had filter coffee to end the night and with four drinks, two 2-course menus and coffee, the total came to $ 55. Not a bad deal :)

Interesting place with lots of potential and big spacious dining room. I understand the food is prepared according classic Turkish recipes but it’s a little too heavy for my stomach. Anyway, nice restaurant I recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new.

Lately I’ve become a massive fan of Turkish cuisine and so a visit to the Haz Restaurant was just a natural move:-) Haz seems to be all over town now and I’ve heard only good things about it my expectations where therefore rather high. But no problem for this chic place. The service was extremely attentive, we never ran out of wine and all food was delivered speedily:-) The wine my friends ordered was a good one from Germany, an interesting blend of Riesling and Gewürztraminer which is my absolutely easy-drinking, no-headache recommendation to all of you(I myself would’ve probably tried Turkish wine, but a crisp Riesling will always do for me as well). Foodwise I believed to be in paradise, whatever I tried tasted even better than what I just had and thought to be yummiest ever. Luckily there was three of us so we coult order heaps of food: hummus, imam bayildi(a salad-like dish of roasted aubergine, tomatoes and red onions), wilted spinach and ciger tava(sautéed lamb liver) for starters. My goodness, just writing this makes me yearn for moreI then went for karisik guvech(prawns, mussels and cod in a tomatoe and white wine sauce) which was simply marvellous. I tried whatever my friends had, too, it was all very fresh, very well seasoned and served in large portionsWe were all more or less stuffed, however, after a short rest we luckily gave in to our desire for dessert and went for kazandibi, an addictive milk pudding covered in cinnamon. What can I say: surprise, surprise the dessert was fantastic as was the accompanying Turkish mocca. Only thing that made me feel a littly strange was the rather spartan interieur. There was a red wall behind me, yes, and there are some nice chandeliers, but still. From where I sat I looked at plain white walls in all directionsbut this is surely not enough to deduct a whole star, so 4,75* from me to Haz!

I’ve eaten at the one in Houndsditch a few times. Every time I walk past I am captivated by the gorgeous smell of food. The food is quite good, better than the likes of Tas and Sofra which I(perhaps crudely) lump this restaurant with, and the portion sizes are large. The service isn’t always the best, particularly when it’s busy, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying what is ultimately a nice meal in a nice restaurant…

Nice place to chill and have a meal. I was taken here by a friend and was quite impressed because the manager knew him on first name basis. He came and sat at our table and had a chat. The food was nice and the atmosphere was pretty chilled. Will visit again very soon.

I had never tried Turkish food before yet this was where our team lunch was held this year and I was thoroughly impressed. As soon as we walked through the door the staff were very attentive, they took my coat and they give you a ticket. We were seated immediately(having made a reservation) and fresh platters of bread were laid out for us. Our drinks were brought to us promptly and we were given plenty of time to peruse the menu. The food, in particular the lamb moussakka was to die for. A good portion size and it was very filling without being too heavy. There was a good atmosphere as it was busy and filled with lively chatter. The meals were slightly pricey but the food was so good you could not complain. There is a good range as well, I was concerned the menu would be full of rare delicacies but there are more generic meals for first timers like myself.

Haz is in the heart of the City but serves wonderful food at very reasonable prices. The theme is Turkish but the décor is very modern. The restaurant isn’t too big so can be used for business dinners/lunches or for an intimate gathering. I really enjoy the food here and have never had a bad meal!!!(have been over 10 times). The menu is varied so there is something for vegetarians too. The mezze are a must and are plentiful… soemtimes I don’t even have a main course as the Mezze fill me up. My favourite dish is the Mixed grill which consists of Chicken cubes, lamb cubes and a kebab. All well cooked over an open flame and served with rice & vegetables. The best thing about Haz is the price… you can have a lovely meal for two and it wont cost more than £50!
