I’m actually not a fan of sushi, as I don’t like fish. However, I love this restaurant! Upon entering, you immediately encounter the cutest little mini waterfall, with a tiny bridge leading from the maitre d station to the seating area. The tables and«chairs» are in a traditional Japanese setting, with cut outs in the floor, which the tables are sunken into, so you sit down cross legged on a cushion to eat your food. The atmosphere is lovely, with an open plan view of the kitchen, so you can see your food being created. The all you can eat menu is especially good value for money, and great for sharing. It encompasses something for everyone, so even fish-phobes such as myself are kept happy. The service is prompt and although the menu threatens to charge full price for all you can eat menu items that are left untouched, they have never enforced that rule upon me, so I think it might just be there to encourage you not to be wasteful. Definitely worth a visit, no matter what your culinary tastes. The sweet potato and prawn tempura are to die for.

One of the best sushi places I’ve been to. Food is fresh and staff are nice. It’s always very busy though and there is a queue to be seated. Only thing that puts me off is that it’s relatively expensive but you get what you pay for. The restaurant is very cosy and the seating on the floor is cool.

This place does do an excellent buffet option which I think was about £18pp for as much sushi as you can eat. You also get a choice of up to 5 hot items on a separate menu. I would give it 5* based on the quality, price, décor and portion size. However, they do have probably the most miserable staff I’ve ever seen. When not serving you can see them congregating in little groups chatting and giving customers dirty looks. Your made to feel awkward and you shouldn’t dare interrupt their conversation with any possible requests or questions you may have.

Great sushi place on Camden Lock, loving the fact you can be outside in the sun(when the suns out! Occasionally, that dies happen!) Never actuallt had food inside, but its got a japonese style with low tables, makes you feel like a giant!!! Lots of choice — sashimi is great but highlight for me was dragon roll and salsa roll — big one of 8 pieces are huge! Super tasty and very filling!!! Friendly service too — helpful when i came with my niece! Definitly recommend it if your in the area — this is going to become a habit for my lunchbreaks!

As a Californian, I’m always craving sushi whenever I’m overseas and I’m so happy I found Sushi Salsa. The location was a little hard to find at first, but I wasn’t at all disappointed once I got there. The decoration as soon as you walk in is amazing with the bridge and small river under The sushi chefs are all in a drop down kitchen as soon as you walk into the restaurant. I love the unique seating here with the«drop down» tables and there is lots of leg space under the table. Whenever I order sashmi, the fish always tastes really fresh, no matter the time of day I come here. All the fruity cocktails here is also really good and are the perfect amount of sweetness for my liking. The service here is quick, though sometimes all the other food will come out and the rolls take a lot longer which is awkward when in a group and everyone else is waiting for you to get your food so they can all begin eating, but I can’t really fault anyone for that Sushi Salsa has become my go to place to satisfy my sushi craving whenever I’m in London.

Since it is a review for food, I am honest that the food was nicely presented and was delicious for the pricey tag. The ambience was quite trendy and almost top class. The main let down was the service of the staff there. I understand that many will not agree with me but sometimes when I dine, I like the relax friendly feel to the people who are working there and it really disappoints me the staff are very mundane and of course I don’t expect them to jump around like circus animals! When we ordered, the waitress had the biggest frown and when she met our ways put a 1 second smile. when they served the food on the plate they didn’t land it in front of us but slid it like a dog bowl and the soup even spilt. No eye contact and just quick serving ready to get rid of us. My boyfriend put the plate to one side and it was clear it wasn’t finish because we put it on our side and the woman bent forward to pick it up just before my boyfriend started to reach for the plate to finish it. we felt embarrassed to stop her because she was so quick and didn’t ask us if we were finished at all.

The sushi buffet menu is incredible value for money, and contains simple, no frills Japanese cuisine and sushi. If you’re after something a little more fancy, go for the a’la carte menu, but for quantity and quality, you cannot beat the buffet. The staff are very friendly, and despite us only going to eat there every few months, they always remember us, which is really sweet. Sushi Salsa also has a great outdoor area, which is lovely for long summer lunches, over looking the lock.

I’ve been here with my cousin in one evening because he loves sushi. It is a lovely place with very good and fresh sushi. The price is ok 21£ in the evening for 6 or 7 orders but is more than enough. We stopped at 4. I am giving it 3 stars for the bad service when I ask for my curiosity the waitress about the food she looked at me very weird and treated us with a unfriendly attitude. I recommend it!

Hands down the best sushi i’ve ever had! The staff doesnt seem to care about the customers and the wait for the food was long, but who cares when the sushi is this fresh and delicious? I mean the staff was not awful, it just took a lot of waving to get their attention and even after that it took a while for them to help us out.

Tables are configured kind of weird and they don’t take American Express. I hate that. Sitting on the floor seemed to show much more potential than it delivered. It is a big, fancy, corporate looking restaurant. It holds a lot of people too. It is not cheap and not that small«Japanese» style sushi place I like. Kind of cold and busy. But the menus were odd and extensive but I’ve enjoyed other sushi restaurants in the area more. I’m not saying the food isn’t good, just that the atmosphere could be a bit more enticing.

Great all you can eat place! Delicious sushi, good value. Nice décor too, you eat low on the floor(but there’s space for your legs under the table) — which creates a nice communal feel. Perfect for a big group — say 6 – 10 people.

We were originally going to go to another all-you-can-eat sushi place in Soho, but this one was more convenient and, according to my friends, a lot nicer than the other one. It’s right by Camden Lock, and surprisingly nice inside, like a kind of place where you would not be surprised to find groups of young professionals relaxing after work. It’s a traditional Japanese type of seating, with«drop-down» type tables, and I actually like that it’s a bit authentic. The buffet is £18.80 and you get one round of hot food(5 items, we got fried salmon, calamari skewers, fried calamari, shrimp tempura, and gyoza), 1 order of specials(another 5 items, we got clam sashimi, prawn nigiri, and some other nice items…), and then 5 rounds of regular sushi(5 items each, for 5 people they gave us 18 pieces per item). The hot food and the specials went well, then we were amazed at the amount of food for the regular sushi. I think the best value of the ordinary items is the salmon sashimi, where they just pile fresh salmon, but 18 pieces of the actual sushi is really difficult to finish. It’s fairly ordinary stuff, like a California roll, or a spicy tuna roll, but nothing spectacular. It was a good meal after 1 round of the regular sushi, but we really struggled to eat much on the 2nd round. But of course, they charge £5/person for food wastage, and we got told off by the waitress when we asked for our bill, so we put in our best efforts and maybe left like 10 pieces on various plates. Overall, I think these things are fun once in a while, but the fun stops when you have to force feed yourself, so be warned about the large portions that come with the regular sushi.

One of the few all you can eats that has nice sushi(you might have to make mention of AYCE as it is not highlighted in the menu) — spacious and well staffed. In the middle of hectic Camden it is a calm oasis with sunken seats, nice décor(including a small fish pond and bridge at the entrance) and good service. Nice well portioned and reasonably priced food straight from the menu. One warning — there is a charge for over ordering/leftover food — so know your limits!

I was so weirded out by the rules and multiple menus this place had going on that I left before even ordered. I didn’t want to over spend on the triple filtered water available on tap at my table before indulging in sushi. Sorry, I’m not ok paying a quid for your weird water. There are a bunch of sushi places on Parkway – go there…

I remember I saved up all my tips for a few weeks to splurge on the AYCE menu! As the«American» and Californian, sushi in the AYCE form usually means it’s been sitting out for quite a while and hopelessly staring at the passer-by with hopes of being the«CHOSEN.» However, Hi Sushi makes it as you order it. The staff provided my native London friend and I will a menu and a dry erase marker. As a result, we planned out our 5 rounds of food which included appetizers, all the sushi and dessert. Just a note, there is a 2 hour limit so you best prepare yourself to eat efficiently paired with the amazing ability of enjoying the food and having a fruitful conversation simultaneously! For the Americans, the sushi is smaller that our American sizes, but you should expect that! It’s European portions(no offense intended, I like how I don’t have to ask for a to-go box). I recall the restaurant being loud due to the music. My friend and I had to yell at each other just to hold a conversation. Until next time, happy travels and grubbin’ across the pond!

I’ve only ever eaten the all you can eat buffet menu. I will warn you though that your eyes can be bigger than your stomach. The last time I was here with some friends we ordered slightly too much food, after my friends thinking that they could beat the 3 repeat orders that I said I had never got past. With the threat of a £10 surcharge per person on any wastage we had to find ways to make the excess appear less than it actually was. The Camden branch is my favourite, with a waterfall in the entrance and seating on the ground and the restaurant is quite spacious. With the buffet you get to choose one round of items from the hot dish selection and you repeat the cold section as many times as you like(apart from a couple of special order items). The food has always tasted good and is great value for money.

Great looking but tasteless sushi. The customers are very trendy, staff are good looking and the décor looks amazing. The cocktails taste great and look okay. The food looks good but is expensive for a very mediocre taste. For example the sashimi looks great on ice, but just like how serving a bad white wine very chilled covers up it’s cheap taste it seems to be the same for the sashimi. Better tasting and value sushi can be found at genuine independent japanese places auto of course they are not so trendy looking to westerners who do not know any better. The waiting staff were nice but not overly friendly, it could be seen that they did not have huge love for each other and that bled into their customer service. Not cheap and good for impressing flashy people who do not know sny better.

We came here on a date night a few months ago but neither of us were quite hungry enough to stuff ourselves with sushi, so decided to try the Ramen instead. I might still come back to fill my belly with all you can eat sushi another day. Awesome-sauce: — It looks nice. I like the dug in tables in Japan, but haven’t seen them in the UK — The menu is quite extensive and not too pricey — My(slightly strange sounding) tonkatsu ramen was interesting. It was a bit like a mixture of katsudon and ramen. Less impressive: — It’s not über-authentic and seems to be run by Chinese staff(you can see the notices to staff are all in Chinese.) this isn’t a biggy, just don’t expect to order in Japanese. — The ramen were a bit too squishy and the broth was a bit salty. I’ve had far better in London Pro tip: If there is no ‘tabehodai’(all you can eat menu), just ask for it.

Food: This is more of a quantity(all-you-can-eat) over quality type place Atmosphere: Love the overall look and the sitting on the floor aspect Service: Decent Price: 16.80GBP is pretty good considering how much food most people can consume here AND the general price of sushi in the UK

So maybe the first time i went, they were having an off day. My boyfriend and i went one evening and had the all you can eat buffet. and it was awesome. They give you two menus — a hot one that you can order once from, and a cold sushi one that you can order from 7 times!!! The hot food was banging and the sushi hit the spot completely. The waiters are just kind of there. They take the little order cards and occasionally walk by so you can flag one down for a drink, but the service isnt why you’re there. The table next to us were getting all kinds of yummy looking things from the regular menu, so i may have to splurge some time and go back. for £40, we each had a drink and enough food to roll us through to the next day. Colour me happy.
