Even with a different name, this place is just an extension of the Desperadoes below. Pretty appalling! Tacos looked like they had been prepared many hours earlier, let’s be clear about this; a taco shell *should not* be soft and dissolving around the beef. While we are here one other thing to explain, a BBQ steak *does not* mean a pan fried steak swimming in barbecue sauce…

Tasty tasty enchiladas, burritos and chimichangas with a side of guacamole, mixed beans, rice, salad and sour cream! Hmmm mmmm… So good! One meal could feed 2 – 3 people and the price is under 6 squid! Fantastic! They also do other traditional Mexican dishes, cocktails and ice-cream for dessert. This restaurant stroke bar, is open from 11am till 2am Mon-Thur and 11am till 3am Fri-Sun. They play a nice mix of music and on a Friday or Saturday the place is packed with pre-party goers. This restuarant is situated on top of another restaurnat called Desperados, so don’t get confused with the two! The seating is intimate, the lighting is low and they have a few high chairs just for customers not eating. It’s a good place to go anytime of day or night and the atmosphere is delightful! Please note that the cocktails are strong!

This place use to have swinging seats. That was fun. Now it doesn’t. What is does have instead is very very tasty food, and very very tasty cocktails. Unfortunately, both come at a rather high price. Which is you’re paying for in a busy restaurant that has a bit of a buzz, you somehow don’t seem to mind. High Chapparal doens’t really have this, out table of six was the only booking so we felt very strange. The staff very stood about as there was literally nothing for them to do. Shame. I liked the swinging chairs.

Once upon a time this was my favourite Mexican restaurant in town. The seating was very unique, with a higher tier of boothes(presumably this was where the place took it’s namesake) which were only reachable by scaling a ladder. For some reason this was stopped just over a year ago and since then my opinion of the place has somewhat changed. The interior is now very dull and my experience of the food has worsened on recent visits. This could obviously be due to my pallette maturing but unfortunately I fear that the places previous high standards have slipped. A real shame because there are not enough decent Mexican restaurants in London. Hopefully this will see a return to form in the near future.
