I am happy that Ho-ja has come to this side of town, a very casual, industrially decorated, high-ceilinged café at the Shepherds Bush end of Goldhawk Road. Makes a very very welcome alternative to the chains of Westfield. I enjoyed a very generous portion of fried chicken pieces-dark meat, not white meat, as it should be! I also had a braised beef slice plate with rice, which came with a thin broth and fresh veggies. Both were lovely, clean textures and flavours, both very enjoyable. I also tried a home-made bubble tea which was huge and very refreshing. I really enjoyed my time here, chilled and a lovely place to be. My only problem was with the menu, its fairly big but also quite confusing, not enough to deter me from happily visiting again though!

I was really excited that there was a Taiwanese place not far from my house but this place is more like a 2.5 star place. The inside is cute and clean. Staff was friendly, food was relatively quick and well priced. Just lacking in the area of flavour, things just tasted bland and my dish was over cooked. I had the teriyaki salmon while my companions had the popcorn chicken and spring rolls. It was nice that they let you pick a sauce for your dish but unfortunately they forgot to give us one of our sauces which was a little bit annoying since we got takeaway. If they amp up the seasonings, I’d give them another go.

This is the first hidden gem I found since moving to London. It has everything I ask for: good authentic food, cheap prices, very friendly, and delivers with deliveroo when I feel lazy. It’s not your typical nasty oriental delivery restaurant, it is a simple authentic Taiwanese restaurant. I only wish they had a larger menu.

Ho Ja is an affordable eatery where it is. The food is better and more ranged than many current restaurants here in Shepherds Bush. I normally order the Taiwanese chicken burger or the beef bento box. The food could be more hot but it is fresh. The chicken burger comes out hot with a complimentary free sauce. Staff are friendly and interior feels comfortable. The food overall gives off a homely Taiwanese eating experience than a fine dining one. Prices are reasonable and worth the portions.

I have been to Ho Ja five times. This restaurant is amazing — the food was delicious special beef noodle soup, and the staff were so friendly. I always have great nights here and think everyone should give it a try. Ho ja is the best restaurant in London !!!

Great food and good beer. Three of us ate on a Sunday afternoon. Chicken popcorn was really amazing — hot and crispy. Beef bun my friend had was very big in size and she struggled to finish it. I will go again. We were given their new desserts to try– Nice to have in summer. We will visit again.

It’s clean environment and good atmosphere. You can try the Taiwanese beef noodles and chicken popcorn, there is not a drop of water in milk sago and taro! They also sell Taiwan Beer, Taiwanese root bear with Apple cider. The price is cheap, a Bento around £6、beef noodles around £7. By the way there is Karaōke in downstairs, can have a party there.

I pass by Ho Ja everyday and as its new to the neighborhood I was really wanting to go. I ran by recently while they were passing out samples and the chicken was SO good. I had a slightly different experience when I went for dinner. First off, I should have gotten the chicken. I instead opted for something more authentic Asian and got a beef roll which while was OK, I didn’t find it had much flavour. The Ho Ja sauce definitely helped. It came with a pickled salad which was basically pickled broccoli and carrot that had just about turned to mush. With the beef roll I also had a Taiwanese beer, good price and cold. The interior is nice, very clean, wood benches and casual dining area and the staff was very friendly. I had very high hopes but was left still wanting. I will probably be back but to go for the chicken which I had the sample of and maybe for some karaōke downstairs.

I had walked by this place many times and was excited for a new cute hole in the wall Asian place to be in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the food was not astounding. I had the fish katsu bento and was pretty disappointed. The veggies(2 pieces of broccoli and 2 pieces of carrot) were very over cooked and had basically turned to mush. The accompanying rice was also cold and quite dry. The fish was decebt and was a good portion for the price. The only saving grace to Ho Ja was the sauce variety(I like any restaurant that gives me condiment options) and The 2 pound Taiwanese beer.

Our colleague walked past here and wanted to try it out, so we came with 20 colleagues. The staff were incredibly friendly and even gave us some free dessert, but overall the food was okay. Most of the menu items were fried unfortunately, everything from fried vegetables and dumplings to fried meat and rice cakes. I personally got the Taiwanese beef noodles and it didn’t taste like what I had in Taiwan. The beef was good but maybe the broth wasn’t right. Their beef buns were good. If I were to come back I would try their non-fried food.
