the shop is small, but the buyer(s?) obviously has(have) a good eye for lovely and interesting vintage women’s clothing. i was really impressed by the well-curated selection. the focus here seems to be on selling beautiful pieces(for reasonable prices) rather than chasing the trends as in other area shops where cheap-looking and over-priced disposable«vintage» takes up too much space. handbag selection, though, was not all that exciting — maybe too trendy and not as carefully selected(quality not as good). looked to have better stuff at the counter, so maybe the bags on the back wall were just a nod to the other area stores?

This Vintage shop is situated at the end of Brick Lane, so I often stop by if I’m on my way home. It’s a tiny shop but manages to fit in a fair amount of stock. The staff are always super friendly and I usually end up having a good chat to them, it makes such a difference to the all to familiar too-cool-for-school attitude in many of the Shoreditch shops. The prices aren’t too bad either, not excessively cheap but more affordable than some of the vintage boutiques further down the road. Definitely worth a look.

This place like many of the vintage of shops in Bricklane sells… well very similar items… However I did one difference, that set Hunky Dory mildly apart from the others — they had a large range of 70’s Acrylic cycling tops in garish colours — should anyone want one, then this is the shop! When I walked in the man in the shop was having a tiff with a customer, and not allowing him a refund… my ear begged a little closer to find out it was because the customer had changed his mind on the product. Worth thinking about maybe.

This a lovely little vintage shop at the Bethnal Green Road end of Brick Lane. It’s a good size and every time I go here I find at least one thing to purchase. Last time it was a pair of barely worn suede boots with a fur lining, it had just started snowing and I had made the fatal error of popping out in a pair of ballet pumps with no socks on. Foolish I know, so luckily Hunky Dory was ready with the goods. Located in the vintage Mecca and surrounded by such gems as Absolute Vintage and Beyond Retro, this store cant really compete in terms of quantity, but the stock is good, less exhausting to get through and often cheaper(my boots were £30). The staff are friendly, the changing rooms well lit and large enough to actually get changed in(you’d be surprised) and men’s and women’s are separated on either side of the shop to maximise effective browsing opportunities.

Hunky Dory is a thoughtfully outfitted retro shop on Brick Lane. It is a small shop with men’s on one side and women’s on the other. They have a wide range of quality items, including a good tie selection. The guy working in the shop when I went was nice and helpful. A shop to check regularly.

I love vintage but hate it when now a days it is mostly over priced/bad quality/poor condition. I like to pop in Hunky Dory because I know the selection is hand picked, everything is good as new– and still vintage. The shop is very small with a limited selection for both women and men, mostly ready-to-wear clothes(so no party selection) and nice big leather bags.
