Unmatching furniture that looked like it was pick up at a vintage store… CHECK! Old books, probably donated from various patrons, creating a mini-library feel… CHECK! Community reaching events and special programs for non-English speaking neighbours… CHECK! Changing art exhibits sprinkled on the walls… CHECK! Poetry and Yoga classes… CHECK! Oh… I suppose I should also mention cheap but great coffee, food and baked sweets… CHECKCHECKCHECK!!! Husk is the hipster nest that could only be born from a crossbred coffee drinking unicorn-kitten. Luckily for us Limehousians, we don’t have to travel to hipster country to enjoy this café(teria) as it is directly across from the DLR station! As you can see from the five star rating, I love this place almost as much as I like gummy bears when they are slightly melted from over exposure to the heat coming from my thighs while they are in my almost too skinny fit pants. I love the large windows in the front overlooking a glamorous view of an asphalt trail and a rainbow of ethnicities passing by as they peer from the other side observing my drooling smile as I take the first bite into my yummy avocado toast. Combine that with great coffee, fun staff, homemade food and random books to read… I couldn’t have asked for a better local café!!! Side tidbit, there’s also a Dutch dude working here dus kunnen je ook in het Nederlands bestellen! :)

Husk is sort of a community space in Limehouse… a trendy community space. It combines a coffee shop with a sort of canteen even though I can only review the coffee side, which is … Amazing! Coffee is really good and they also sell some yummy cakes(do try these as they are quite good). I like this space as it is a great space to do a bit of studying/reading/working and they also feature some times craft markets or art expositions. Prices range between 2−4ish for coffees and teas. Give it a try if your in the area :-)

Lovely airy interior, great service and fantastic coffee. Unlike so many other places with a similar ‘east London creative’ vibe, there’s loads of space so nobody will be reading your latest short film script over your shoulder, should you be writing one. Lots of tables for those with laptops, and sofas for a natter. Art all over the place, and lots of personality. It’s right by Limehouse station so not a hassle to get to if you aren’t local, and the hot chocolate also comes highly recommended.
