Really nice little place tucked away by the river off Mile End millennium park — should be lush sitting on the decking outside in the Summer. I’ve been twice with my bro & took my mum there once. Real friendly staff, many of Scandiwegian origin & great food — interesting takes on traditional Northern European ingredients & very in vogue with the whole ‘cutting-edge Scandi-cuisine thing’. Quite pricey though & weirdly the food was much better there the first time, than the 2nd time we went a week later… Maybe a different chef was in? Who know?!

Much like the previous reviewer, I picked up a 3 course deal on timeout. It is a trek to get to, but it was worth it. Very quiet, but it was a Tuesday… The food was very inventive, seasonal and well balanced… If you’re a keen cook, you’ll definitely pick up some new ideas… Raw rhubarb, beautifully treated raw cod(in a ceviche style but much less harsh) and fantastic barley. I read that the chef has a lot of experience in curing/smoking fish from his time growing up in Northern Europe and this shines through in his dishes. Interesting wine parings and friendly service. Would be especially recommended in the summer as you could grab an apéritif overlooking regents canal.

Got a deal via Timeout for a 3 course meal and subsequently trekked over to the far end of Bethnal Green to try it out. The restaurant is located at the end of a very quiet street and the interior itself is very Scandinavian in its natural simplicity. We ordered the Scallops and the Stone Crab with Cucumber Textures. The Scallops were fresh and went nicely with the peach and onion toppings. The Stone Crab was lovely and dotted with edible flowers. I ordered the duck breast which was tender and lovely while my bf ordered the pork belly. Strongly recommend the duck breast, it was a great complement in texture to the raisin couscous it came with. The desserts were less impressive, poached pear in wine had a strange taste to it, and the mousse was a bit underwhelming, but overall had a lovely time here.
