Came here and tried their midweek lunch menu. Ended up going for just a main as I was in a rush. Restaurant was very quite only two other covers so service was very attentive, friendly and quick. I went for the minute ribeye, great quality beef but cooked slightly under to what I requested. Not too much of a problem as I still enjoyed it and the jus it was served with packed so much flavour.(Visit — 10/06/2015 Lunch)

I had to arrange a work event meal for all our European colleagues who came to visit us for a meeting. I chose the Inside as it was close to the hotel and received good reviews. The website and its pictures looked interesting enough to take a bet on. I am glad the 12 of us who attended were not disappointed. The restaurant is small but intimate, dimly lit and with a minimalistic style décor but still keeping its warmth. The staff via phone and email were great at getting everything booked and helpful They asked for the orders prior to the day which meant that there was no faffing when we arrived. The below listed is what I got to have for my meal and also try because of the no shows(they totally missed out): Starter * Slow cooked venison ragout, pappardelle herb crumbs Mains * Roast free range chicken breast, fondant potato, black pudding, sweet corn purée, burnt onion gravy * Roast duck breast, white bean purée, braised chicory, salsify, red wine jus * Grilled Hereford beef rib eye, horseradish mash, Savoy cabbage, Chantenay carrots, thyme jus Desserts * Sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch sauce, crème fraiche * Buttermilk pannacotta, forced rhubarb, orange & almond biscotti The venison was divine with a bit of pasta and the beautiful sauce I actually could of ate this as a main. For the mains I ordered the rib eye but due to the no shows I got to try the duck and chicken too. Jus used for both dishes were lovely which I soaked with the complimentary bread. The chicken was cooked to perfection; it was not dry. The duck was succulent, juicy but not fatty. My rib eye was well-done but was not hard or dry but was still tender and beautiful. The mash, cabbage and carrots were seasoned and cooked perfectly, which all worked together as a whole dish. As I got two desserts I was first drowned in the richness of this sticky toffee pudding with the sauce and then the pannacotta after was refreshing and light. All in all I had a fantastic time, food was awesome, service was great and we were a happy bunch!

Great food, great service. Fair prices. Definitely coming back. Food was modern British and executed well. Deserts were particularly memorable but maybe that says more about me? Service was great, fast, polite. Couldn’t really ask for anything more!

We got there on a weekend evening upon reservation and were treated to fine choices of meals and desserts. The chicken was roasted to perfection, and very soft inside. The choice of vegetables was great and perfectly adapted to the various dishes. A bit pricey of course, but worth every penny after all. We also appreciated the distinctive atmosphere. I also appreciated the craft beer named Meantime.

Inside is a great restaurant located around the corner from the Greenwich Rail Station. While nothing may grab you from the outside, the food and service inside(of Inside) is something impressive! Four of us each tried something and all loved what we ordered, as well as what each other had. The staff were friendly, attentive and made it for a great experience. Definitely somewhere we’ll come back to.

It’s a good idea to book beforehand if you wish to eat here. Food is good but the menu definitely needs some variety. I most certainly won’t eat the same meals every time.

Inside is a Modern European restaurant within the food wasteland we call Greenwich. The décor and adorable setting makes it an instant favorite for those who are tired of the Café Rouges and pubs that dot the neighborhood. We made reservations for 9 pm on Saturday, and were promptly seated upon arrival. The menu is simple but solid. We ordered the £6 truffle tagliatelle(which was amazing, and I’m wishing there was a bigger serving) as well as the £5 mussels with white wine, shallots, parsley, and cream(nothing extraordinary but delicious all the same). Chicken breast and duck(I believe they ran from £13 to £16) were our main courses, and of the two the duck leg was the one that stood out more. Coupled with a delicate beet sauce, it was definitely a dish that completed the evening.

Easily the best restaurant in Greenwich although that title does not appear to be as sort after as you might imagine. Food is modern european and having eaten there at least a dozen times I’m struggling to think of a single dish that was below par, while many have been excellent. Prices are somewhat high and portions comparative modest in size given this is a local restaurant but it still represents good value particularly when compared to what you’d expect to pay for food of the same quality in central London. Fixed price lunch menu is very keenly priced and while the ingredients might be comparatively simpler there is nothing lacking in the cooking. Definitely recommended as a treat although if you want a slap up meal you might want to go elsewhere.

A quiet Wednesday evening, good company and dinner at Inside. All boxes were ticked on this outing. Inside is an extremely minimalist styled place but that’s ok. I like these tucked away places that are more substance and less flash. This place is clean, well laid out so you can have a bit of private chatting but with a gentle buzz from patrons around you. No loud music here to drown you out or elicit a headache either. The hostess was welcoming, took our jackets and offered us a choice of seating. This place is also lit mainly from the the natural light through the large windows(frosted enough so no pesky pedestrians staring down your throat) & when the sun goes down the candles go on… no harsh lighting here to ruin the ambience of a first date, secret date or anything else. I started with the asparagus risotto… just the right amount of ‘bite’ to the asparagus too. Don’t you just hate limp asparagus? The risotto was very creamy and no gravelly texture in any mouthful. I moved onto the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. The potatoes, green beans and spinach were well match to the bass & there was a moorish light cream that I’m still dreaming of. We drank Pinot Grigio & this washed everything down with ease. Service here is lovely. No staff hovering around you waiting to swipe your plate mid-bite. I’m not sure how they work out the timings but they seemed to know instinctively the right moments to ask for drink selections, food choices & when to take the dishes away. Very well done! I hate writing this review because the tourists will likely see it & that could mean the end of my hidden Greenwich gem… but on the up side, this place and the staff deserve 4 stars!

Artfully(read: pyramid of food in the center of the plate) arranged, or cleanly laid out(read: food dressed on the plate the ‘old-fashioned’ way), the food is eye-catching and fairly tasty. We choose the 2-course, set-menu at around almost nineteen pounds a pop and were sated. We were so sated, in fact, that we had left no room for dessert, or, as the waitress said, ‘pudding’. What I liked best about Inside was the dusky lighting. I could see my food, sort of, well enough, but not the pores on the face of the person sitting directly to my left, and, for that, I was glad. What I liked least about the resto was the roll-away bit of wall that exposed not only the coat check space lit my bare bulb, but also wiring and such not so flatteringly disguised. Of course, if one isn’t seated near the coat check, then so what, really. –just looked a bit pokey in there when compared to the simple, dimly-lit, minimal elegance of the rest of the dining room. My appetizer was a lovely plate of creamy chicken livers and toast with a bit of frisee and other greens on the side. I loved the creaminess of the livers and thought that they were adequately spiced. My main course was Scotch beef prepared medium rare served with(I hadn’t properly read the menu and wasn’t keen on eating them when they arrived at table) chips. The hubs gladly relieved me of my pomme frites burden. What I hadn’t realized about beef from Scotland is that it’s fairly heavily marbled with fat. I would have preferred slightly less fat in my slab o’ steak, but it was tasty nonetheless. The service wasn’t as effervescent as I had hoped given the overall look and feel of the place, but it was passable. Inside: a bit of swank in Greenwich!

Widely regarded as the best restaurant in Greenwich. All respect to Greenwich, but surely with a little imagination Inside could be more exciting. This place is what I would call correct. It’s quiet, nicely laid out, almost austere in its arrangements, with nice separation between tables, tranquil lighting, white tablecloths, an easy-to-read, balanced menu, discreet and graceful service, and a reasonably broad wine list. The food could be classified under that umbrella term modern eclectic, but really it just falls back on fairly predictable concepts like terrine of this, seared that or pan-fried something else, like a gastropub. This being foie gras, that being fillet beef and the other being sea bass. Had a pleasant, comfortable meal there, but distinctly unexciting and almost immediately forgotten. I had pollock for main course, which I applaud as a choice for its versatility, value and for its sustainability. And it was well-cooked, just the right level of fluffiness, and a generous portion. They also do a three-course set meal for £20.95 from Tue to Thu before 8pm, which is excellent value. The dessert, some chocolate thing or other, was impeccable, admittedly. So yes, I would say that if this restaurant is consistent in delivery this level of quality, it may very well be the best in Greenwich. But it’s generic and unexciting. Not that it’s obliged to be original and adventurous — it’s not necessarily what people want from a reliable neighbourhood eaterie. Unless you live in the area or are visiting, there’s little more to be said in its favour.

I can‘t remember how many times i‘ve eaten here. It never fails to deliver. They have a reasonably priced wine list and the staff are very efficient. My only critisism would be that they don‘t change the menu often enough and some new dishes would be welcome. You will almost certainly have to book. In my opinion the best restaurant in the area.
