Iscad, International Society of Communication and Drama

I have done the theatre and accent reduction classes with islad from April to july and I’m continuing to with the forum theatre class this autumn. I just love it. I find theatre a very liberating hobby, which allows me to express playfulness and creativity. Emilia is a great teacher with a lot of energy. She puts a lot of efforts into the school. Last term she wrote the script of a funny and fantasyful play and we did an open rehearsal in front of a small audience which went very well. Islad is also a place where you meet really interesting people from all over the world. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I have been living in London since 1998 and just finished university. In July, I came across ISLaD, went to see the end of year show and took part in a Voice and Accent Reduction workshop. Both events exceeded my expectations: I was very impressed with the high standard of teaching and also with the artistic quality of the production. I am Portuguese, and, to be honest, I was amazed to find out what your accent can achieve in only 12 weeks of training. The class space is a charming theatre studio, a welcoming creative environment. The website is easy to use and the courses are very accessible (and cheap!), and you can design your own study plan and work at the same time. There’s a friendly and international atmosphere, I met people literally from all over the world who are living in London or just passing. This is a really new way to improve your English, you don’t even feel as if you were studying. I strongly recommended it to anyone interested in Language and in theatre.
