I’m giving the Metal Works 5 stars simply because I think it is the PERFECT setting for the semi-regular party night«Rumpus». Each of the many rooms had a different vibe with various entertainment — it’s like a dreamscape! When I went one room had a samba percussion band playing, with a woman in costume dancing on stage, then the next room was themed as a cheesy car wash and playing disco music, the next was a rave room with great dance music, then a blues /swing /jazz room and of course a main concourse with scantily clad girls performing on an aerial hoop… It is such a fun night, I had a pot of glitter thrown on me as I entered(I asked for it don’t worry, they don’t just throw it at everyone!) so I left a sparkly trail everywhere I went, and the themes of each event mean that you see some great costumes and everyone is in a fun party mood. Highly recommended!

Damn, who knew this place was here? I travelled down to Angel for a Texas Chainsaw Blu-Ray release party, so basically they set up a space to look like Leatherface’s home(the outside USA southern non-assuming part and the horrorshow that was his room upstairs.) I had to go down Torrens street all the way to the end, and sure enough here it was. The Metal Works is a big open space with a lot of potential. It’s never going to be a sleek or chic space, it’s right next door to a real meal shop and scrap yard. But there’s a lot of room to create something like a concert or a grungy pop-up like this. There’s a bar in the back, a cooking counter and grill up front and a space for a DJ in the middle(unless they added that in for this event, in which case, there’s a ton of room to bring in whatever you need.) I had a good time checking this place out and feeling like I was about to be murdered at any second. Absolutly worth checking out for a fun grungy night.

Visited here for a Super Sunday Breakfast Club Pop up. They had fitted out the venue really well. They had things hanging from the ceiling, A Dj pumping out some cool beats and created a really nice atmosphere to have a boozy sunday breakfast. We ordered straight away from the cocktail menu and some had been created especially for teh event. They tasted amazing mostly mexican themed but really great flavours and not overpriced. The food menu was the same as the Breakfast Club café’s so if you have been before expect the same. I was torn between the Huevos Al Benny and the All American Pancakes. So I got the person i was with to have one and I had the other! Both tasted Amazing! The service was really great and the cocktail guy even came over to explain his new creation with some taster of other cocktails. The toilets were a bit freaky there’s some crazy bands being advertised I think its a heavy metal club at the weekend. Not my cup of tea but for an event space/pop up café this place definately has character!

10⁄10 for this place the inside of it is amazing. I think it was open as some goth club until fairly recently but since then it’s been hosting private events. I’ve been here for art exhibition, Last Tuesday’s animal party, and a Torture Garden night all of which have been perfectly illuminated by the stunning and slightly mad interior here. The central courtyard is what really makes this place.
