Fairly standard branch of Itsu, the place is so clean you can’t believe they serve food. But they DO and it is great. The miso soup is very good although the tofu in it is a little soup for my taste. The Thai Prawn rice bowl is wonderful too. If I had to make a complaint I would have to say it could be warmer. I went in once on a bitterly cold winter day it was snowing, and the huge doors were wide open.

Maybe this was just my bad luck, but the only time I ever got take-away from this lunch-time Itsu, I got food-poisoning. It put me off of sushi for three months. I’m still not the the point where I fully enjoy it any more. I’ve eaten at sit-down Itsu restaurants, which were fine, but just be careful with this one. I guess the take-away menu may not be so fresh.

I’ve seen this chain around and often thought that it looked quite interesting. Well today I decided to pop in and try them out. I opted for the Chicken Noodle soupy thingy. Although I must admit to being pretty daunted by the size and weight of the thing. Like a total glutton I scoffed the lot though, and loved every mouthful. Tipping up the container cup style to drink the miso broth when the ratio to solid to liquid became unreasonable, in favour of the broth. Although I must admit to feeling totally stuffed afterwards, I did not suffer from a carb-crash which makes work after a heavy lunch, harder than it needs to be. Food good, with decent ingredients. Was not much by way of seating when I elected to eat in. But, I found a seat going spare on a table for two. Think I will be heading back again for a nice, healthy, and hot feed on a cold day.
