I head here when I’m jonesing for my falafel hits, which is frighteningly often — it’s a long, sad story that starts with heaven-in-a-pita-pocket at L’As du Falafel in Paris and continues into an epic quest entwined in continuous unfulfilment. This place is a distant-yet-decent second. Filling, organic and delicious. I do love me some falafel with halloumi, salad, gherkins and baba ghanoush — lamb meatballs if I’m feeling carnivorous. The chorizo+pork stew is heart-warming with a nice kick to it.

Just falafs, is just for tastes. I was on my lunch break in Covent garden,(searching for the worlds largest cupcake, which I never found by the way, b/c it turned out I was there on the wrong day) and a co-worker and I decided to head into just Falafs b/c it seemed to be a quick place to go. There was a line out the door, and yes they were mostly tourists, but it still seemed like a good idea, and the line moved pretty fast. There was a bit of a wait for me to get my food, and they did mess up my order, but they corrected it without a fight. but once I got my order it was DELICIOUS it was something with chicken, sweet potatoes and a yummy garlic sauce, in a pesto wrap, but it probably only took me 5 minutes to eat it. It was SOSMALL. for how much it costed, and how delicious it was, I wanted more for my moneys. I don’t have a lot of moneys, and when I spent them I expect that they are ‘laffing’ at me for wasting them.

Small eatery in Covent Garden with outdoor seating. Great for a quick bite to eat during lunch hour.

Shame on you Just Falafs for looking so scrumptious yet tasting like cardboard. I had high hopes for falafels in the UK because I hear they’re more authentic here but I should have known better than to have my first English falafel experience in a tourist trap. I got the Yoghi Bear falafel with carrot and beet salad and cucumber yogurt. The best part of the dish was that they toast the pita like a giant burrito. The bad part was that it was dry and flavorless. Also, I forgot to ask about adding the chili sauce, because without it, it really didn’t have any flavor. All I tasted was straight up yogurt and carrot. I need to make at least 5 trips to Taim when I get back in the states next week just to wash that awful taste out. yuck.

Just Falafs(which is much funnier in a British accent) is a great place to grab a quick bite in downtown London. I found it because it’s listed in Time Out’s cheap eats guide. I’m glad I did, because it’s possibly the tastiest lunch I’ve eaten in Soho. Really delicious falafel. I’ve stopped in many times since. There are a couple of bench tables and counters with stools. A wrapped falafal is a simple take-away bite, though, if it’s full up(which is very likely during a weekday lunch break). When I was there last summer they were celebrating their newly-obtained liquor license by giving away a free beer with every eat-in falafel wrap they sold. How can you beat that? I can’t promise that sort of deal now, but I can promise several choices of tasty vegetarian falafal and sauces, in two different sizes.

We were glad to find Just Falafs on a recent trip to London, very good Falafel and outdoor seating which is great for people watching in the trendy little Covent Garden. The eats were very good quality and the staff was nice, the outdoor seating was nice as well — but the price was way out there — i think mainly the problem was the dollar was so weak, with the exchange rate i paid like $ 15 for a sandwich here! I didn’t see any other falafel places around and we were in a mood for falafs.

Healthy, organic, and a falafel!!! What more can you want. I resisted this transformation of my favorite ‘junk’ food, but Just Falafs has won me over. How could it not, with that strange sense of humor that I am totally in accord with — smiley and silly — as well as the combination of a strange, healthy bunch of raw vegetables in my falafel? Honestly its not quite the same, but something new and different, and not entirely bad. The only bad part, I would say, is the price — about five pounds each — but considering the area and the fact that its all fresh and organic, its actually not too bad at all. Some warmer seating might be handy, but I like the inside of the Market, which usually has some live music performances during lunch hours.

I have come to this place to have a vegetarian falafal wrap. It was expensive because it was like, 5 pounds. They put in a mixture of salad from the salad bar in the bread they warmed in the microwave beforehand. I found the bread a bit soggy(probably from the salad). On a positive note you can add different sauces. I choose a chili one. The main problem with this place was I took the food out and less than 5 minutes later, it was cold. Coupled with the soggy bread, I’ll have to give this one a 2 star review and make a better selection next time.

Love the name, love the loyalty card, and any place that makes its logo from food with a smiley face, in this case a grinning falafel, is a winner in my book. Just Falafs is fab, if a little pricey. The food is tasty and comes in some interesting combinations. The small portion is just about right for me, though guys might want to try the large. With being right on the corner of Covent Garden, this is not somewhere to be braved at the weekend, but the area is relatively quite during the week. Since seating is outside, it is probably best either to get take out, or to go during the summer.

Just Falafs, the name still cracks me up, it should have worn off but still makes me smile. I order the F.L.T and have a regular sized one, because I once ordered a large thinking that I could handle it, and it broke me. I like to have spicy sauce and gherkins with mine and once you’ve had one, you’ll want to have a nice long sleep because they are so filling. The one I go to is located on Wardour Street and is a great place for lunch. There are seats inside but unless you go for a really early or really late lunch, you’ve not likely to get a table. The food is great, the staff are fast plus you get to watch them make your wrap and they are really fast. Strangely satisfying to watch them smush the falafel whilst making the wrap. I usually get it to go and eat it in Golden Square.

I found THEBEST falafel in London, this tiny restaurant has the freshest ingredients and the most audacious combinations for your falafel, all are organic and seasonal sourced ethically, so you actually have a double feel good sensation in your pallet and in your soul. What a combo! I strongly recommend the Yoghi Bear, its a falafel wrap with grated carrot, beetroot, sprouts and a glorious yogurt cucumber sauce. Go ahead, treat your self.
