This is one of my «cheat eating» places I go to when I want to indulge in something naughty! My usual is a falafel(easy on the sauce), cheesy chips and a cookie. I would avoid the cookies, they don’t taste fresh and I’m sure they are not made on the premises. However… unlike the other reviews my falafel has never been dry. It’s fresh and filling. The cheesy chips has the right amount of cheese and they give you a hearty portion of chips for a good price.

If done right, a falafel can satisfy even a carnivore. Unfortunately, this place was just not it. My husband had the lamb wrap and I had the falafel wrap. The worker seemed nice. He said all the falafels are made fresh every morning(prompting my decision to order the falafel wrap). However, upon tasting this wrap, not only were the falafels bland, but it tasted stale. He might as well strain and dump a can of chickpeas, lettuce, slab it with the equally as bland hummus and give it to me — because that was what it tasted like. I’m a strong advocate of not wasting food but I couldn’t even finish my damn«wrap». Tried to feed it to the birds at Regent’s Park and even they wouldn’t eat it. Hubby was not happy with his soggy lamb wrap either — the owner basically drowned the wrap in a «house dressing» and spicy sauce. Nice worker, but naaahhhhhhh… no thanks.

Satisfying falafel wrap with hummus, but nothing mind blowing. Small shop with a few tables and chairs with an outdoor section.

This place is about a 45 second walk from my flat and is surrounded by no less than 3 other kebab shops, and While the Woody and Town Grille are tough contenders, this place holds its own. Its the only shop in the area that actually grills their wraps(huge plus for me), and the chili sauce is unique and amazing with its sweet/spicy kick. The lamb and chicken on the spits look top quality compared to the bland, homogeneous stuff across the street at First Choice. The staff is friendly, and the food is cheap. No complaints here.

The falafel is just alright. As mentioned by other reviewers, somewhat dry. The salad in the wrap merits a «so-so.» On the plus side, the staff are quite friendly.

I’d agree with everything in the first review! I had the falafel wrap as if you’re going to the king of falafel it would be stupid not to try the falafel! tis not the best falafel I’ve ever had, ’twas a bit dry, so maybe more the prince of falafel! haha!

Open late, with wraps priced just below four quids a pop(heft comparable to a decent sized San Diego burrito — for those who know) all served to me in under 45 seconds’ time, King of Falafel is how I prefer to end my evenings in Camden Town. Did I mention it’s strategically positioned adjacent to World’s End? Yay!

Arriving hungry to Camden the other week to see Amanda Palmer perform at the Electric Ballroom, my friend and I needed something quick, filling and preferably not swimming in grease. Falafel was the perfect dish, and lo and behold if we didn’t see a boastful sign claiming to serve the very ‘king’ of chickpea balls! Falafel King seemed just like any other kebab shop; meat turning on a spike behind the counter, congealed pizza slices on glass shelves and chip fat in the air. The falafels, though, were something else. Big and robust and tasty, accompanied by fresh crunchy salad and expertly rolled up in wraps substantial enough to hold everything together well — all for a mere £3.50! Ravenous as I was, I ended up throwing the last bite of my wrap away — a move I regretted later when I remembered how good it had tasted. Top marks to Falafel King, though I do have one suggestion: your falafels need more kick — just a little something to make them stand out from the crowd. Falafel King can be my North London chickpea choice from henceforth, but Taste London( ) in Camberwell keep the crown.
