I was ravenous after a flat viewing session in the neighborhood. I was looking for a comfortable atmosphere to dine alone while attempting to multitask by eating dinner and doing some online flat hunting at the same time. This casual café environment was perfect. Plenty of space. Plenty of solo diners. The barista/waiter/bartender(this man was running the place solo) services the café from behind the counter. Put in your order at the counter, he’ll bring you your food when it’s ready. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara. The dish left much to be desired. The overcooked pasta was swimming in a watery lackluster cream sauce with large chunks of chewy rubbery bacon. I was still hungry and noticed the menu had a set course option, which would make my addition of a starter salad an extra couple of quid. So I decided to give the food another shot and ordered the warm mushroom salad dish after the abysmal main course had arrived. Albeit I wasn’t looking for the best Italian food on this particular occasion, but this dish was just as disappointing as the pasta. The barista/waiter/bartender was very concerned with the fact that my meal had been barely touched and proactively asked if I’d like something else off the menu instead. Although I didn’t take him up on it, it was a very nice gesture on his part and is the only thing that would make me come back to try the food at this spot out again.

Enjoyed pizza and pasta here after the arsenal game while waiting for the crowds headed to the tube to die down. The carne pizza was great and the pasta carbonara was decent.

Did not eat there as eaten beforehand but stopped in for a coffee and tea. Pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant, nice friendly staff, creamy latte and lovely tea. Food looked lovely that was being served and big portions so next time we are in the area we will try the food out as looked and smelt nice and prices looked reasonable.

A good pasta place for a quick meal. I usually go to La Pasta on my way home when I know I’m too tired to cook. I’ve had numerous of the pasta selections. They’re all generally about the same. Overall, it’s a good place, with good food for a good price. Judging by the number of tables, I think the owners have the ambition to grow their business, nevertheless everything I’ve been in, the restaurant has never been more than 50% full. It does give the place a empty feeling… which when I’m tired from a long day at work, I seriously don’t mind. I wouldn’t take anyone here to impress or for a big group of friends.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant-the food was actually quite good and the staff very friendly and prompt. I droPped a star because was slightly bothered by the grubby looking men in the corner who were disturbing our conversation as they were so loud-and they turned out to be the owners!

Occasionally frequent this establishment at lunchtime, with varying degrees of success. Currently, lunch time deal of any pizza or pasta for £4.95. Sometimes, pizzas tends to be charred to the point of inedible. Sometimes, pizzas are okay. Would give it a try if passing and short on ideas of alternative eateries. Currently has a food hygiene rating of 3(generally satisfactory — like their food).

An average Italian restaurant just on Highbury Corner, next to the tube station. They serve a wide range of regular Italian fare including pizza, pasta and a selection of meat dishes. It’s all very straightforward and reasonably priced, but of a middling quality. If there is a big plus point for this place it has very nice toilets?!
