Great, simple food at very good price. Venue is also cool and adds a touch of the wow factor. Waiter was excellent — really friendly but not over the top. Atmosphere is quite relaxed, nice and magical because it is next to a Turkish 1001 nights place so the two spirits merge

Lovely restaurant in Angel. The pizza was very traditional/Italian. Very thin and really tasty. The service was really fast and great. We also had freshly squeezed orange juice and apple juice that were so incredibly fresh — which is not that easy to find here in London. The environment was very nice and the staff very friendly.

Met up with some friends and was disappointed with where we had gone to, they had a staff problem(yeah, she was getting every order she took wrong) and so decided to take my friend Rina’s suggestion and come to Monte’s. Honestly, it was an inspired choice. Excellent company, excellent atmosphere and excellent food. So much food, and was delicious. I decided to have 3 starters; Italian nachos, bruschetta and Garlic, mozzarella, cherry tomato and rosemary bread. They were delicious, especially the Italian nachos! Was a very enjoyable evening. Then we(two of us) had dessert which we shared Crème Brule which was perfectly made! Got served free champagne too! Service was reasonable, perhaps a little laid back, but it is an Italian restaurant. The table was a little small for four people with 3 sides or mains each but we managed to cope, and the staff were good humoured about the whole thing. A very enjoyable time was had by all. I will definitely go back.

Nice little Italian place just off upper street. It was really busy on upper street and it was a little bit more quiet here. We thought of sitting outside for lunch however it was too bright(oh what’s that thing in the sky oh yes it’s sun). They have a nice table next to the window but unfortunately it was taken when we were there. Their lunch menu really is a bargain. Two of us spent around 50 in total which includes a whole bottle of sparkling wine which is 23 pounds and we both ordered starter, main as well as dessert. The beef salad and grill lamb I ordered were all both really good. Had homemade apple pie with ice cream and I really like it as well. I will definitely go again with friends next time.

Went here for a ladies’ night valentines day dinner after wandering around Angel for a while trying to find somewhere that had available tables since we hadn’t pre-booked. From the outside, it doesn’t look like the place is very big — but there is a large basement floor downstairs with plenty of space! My only issue there was the service. It’s a good thing we had plenty of time to spare, because check-ins by the server were few and far between. I was majorly regretting not bringing a water bottle with me, because I asked for water every time the waitress came, but she never came back with any. I needed more than the one small glass of water to help with the effect of all the wine I was drinking and food I was eating! The décor was my favorite part. Our group of four was seated in this little private alcove away from the rest of the room and tables, there were rustic twinkly lights everywhere, and there’s even a waterfall in one of the rooms. And the food was delicious — I had an avocado starter, gnocchi, and a tasty Chianti. If the service was better, it would’ve been a perfect way to spent Valentine’s.

Surprising that the owners of this also owns Killis along the street, because Killis is inferior in almost every way. This place has tasty food, big portions and fun service — we were even given complimentary glasses of licquers at the end of the meal. A lovely evening.

Venue– this restaurant is fairly new(2012) and located in the heart of angel N1. It’s on a small side street called Theberton street and the décor is really nicely done with a theme of old and new stones and woods. 4⁄5 Staff– the staff are excellent. Always polite and they never have anything over than s smile on there face. If anything is needed they are more than willing to help. 4⁄5 Food– the food is meant to be italian but it tends to cover Greek and Turkish, this is probably due to the fact that they own men and laz and also kelis which are real popular. I’ve never had anything that I thought was poorly cook or presented. I usually go for the veal with spaghetti bolognese and deep fried vegetables. Which are yummmm. For starters I tend to have the Portobello mushroom with light breadcrumbs and garlic sauce. The only negative is that someone I went with recently had a dessert and it was real watery. It seemed like it had been left to defrost and then been slapped on his plate. Not a good look. I shall be back !!!

Amazing! I have been going to Mem & Laz for many years and it has been a very successful restaurant so when i found out the owners had expanded and opened an Itslian practically next door i had to try it. I was very imoressed as always. The décor is artistic, rustic, and inviting. From the front its very deceiving as it looks like a small restsurant but it actually opens up at the back to reveal a large balcony area and its nice and bright. You can see the wood fire pizza oven on the middle and it smells great. They even have a large function room downstairs. The ambiance is warm, friendly and cozy. The service is impecable. All the staff were fast, friendly snd had great knowledge of the menu to help answer any questions. The food was delicious!!! They have a great choice of appetizers or shared antipasti options. I got the vegetarian antipasti plate to share, it had roasted peppers, courgettes, artichokes, roasted aubrrgine, tomates, mozzerella, mixed marinated olives and mushrooms all served with rocket and warm bread. Loved it!!! For mains I had the Carbonara and it was one if the best i have had. The portions were very good size. My husband got the Lasagne and he said it was very good and my sister got the Gnocchi with tomato, mozzerella and fresh basil and she loved it. I was happily stuffed but still managed to squeeze in dessert which was Banoffe Pie. again it was great. I didnt get the pizzas but i did see some go out passed me and they were a good size and smelt delicous. Ive already booked a table for next week to take my mum. :) I would definitely recommend this place, for the price its a gem!!! There is also outdoor seating.

When passing La Vita e Bella, my head snaps around like a construction worker’s who spies a woman in a tight dress. It’s massive wood oven dominates the interior, beckoning to pizza lovers like myself to forget our diets. I managed to avoid temptation until I walked by on a sunny Friday and saw an empty table outdoors. La Vita e Bella may be new to Islington, but the owner has been a fixture for 13 years with Mem & Laz and knows that it takes to create a successful restaurant. Service was attentive and the menu delivered good value for money. If you stop by for lunch, you can treat yourself to two courses for £7.95. I paid a bit more because the =chicken liver starter I chose was not included in the lunch special, but it was completely worth it. Although the dish lacked a bit of acidity, the meat was cooked perfectly. A decadent start to the weekend. I had planned to bring some of my pizza home, but devoured it too quickly for that to happen. I’m thankful La Ve Bella doesn’t deliver because that could be dangerous.
