I haven’t been to too many gyms here in London but as far as the price goes its a great deal. 2 swimming pools, 1 has a wave machine and is availbele during the day for laps. The other is more for the kids. The Gym area is on the smaller side, and in the mid afternoon can be really nice and empty. I have not tried their classes but believe that each class is 7−14£ That seems fair considering that most yoga classes are around that price if not more.

This place used to be about a 10 minute walk from my house. The Latchmere Leisure Centre offers a range of facilities from a gym to badminton courts, a swimming pool and fitness classes as well. I mostly used the swimming pool and hire the badminton courts a few times. To hire the courts, it’s quite cheap, it might of changed now but it was around a tenner between two people for 2 hours. Not bad… It’s usually quite quiet on a Sunday afternoon. The swimming pool is a really good size. However, the pool gets really busy with Mums and babies in the afternoon so I’d suggest going in the morning or the evening. I liked this place. It’s got a nice family feel but isn’t always hugely busy which is a nice change as most London gyms can be pretty heaving more of the time. A nice, cheap alternative to the bigger, corporate gyms…

I used this leisure center for a couple of years until I had to move house and was no where in the area so stopped going. The only facility I was after was the swimming pool — and it was fine. It is more of a set up for kids rather than serious swimming although they did lane off a few lanes for those who wanted to do laps. The wave machines kick in every half an hour(it seemed like half an hour) which could be a bit annoying if all you want to do is swim — but really I couldn’t complain because of the cost. As it’s a leisure center the prices are much cheaper than joining a private gym(which in the center of london often don’t have a pool). Its basic — but for kids I reckon they would really like it.
