I added Le Café after discovering it just last week, in the throes of final exams at school round the corner. It’s the kind of small place you could easily walk by, but wait, don’t! You’ll miss out on some great sandwiches if you do, at seriously mind-blowingly low prices — even by NON-London standards. For £2−3, you can have a lovely, loaded sandwich in one of about two dozen varieties, both deli style and«ingredient-salad»(ie. egg-mayo, chicken salad, etc). They offer buns, bread, and wraps(I think… I love the bread so I stick to that!), and the service is amazing – everyone who walks through the door is greeted like a long-time customer, and it gives you the warm feeling of a family establishment. There are a few tables inside and a small sidewalk area outside, though it’s been too cold to enjoy so far. I can guarantee 100% that I will be back, and certainly for lunchtime sammiches with school friends, because I love said sammies so much. I tried some of their hot food(the chili con carne), which wasn’t Mexcian style, but was still the best attempt I’ve found in London, and certainly homemade. All around, it’s a great place. (P.S. their card minimum is £4, which is perfect, because you can get two different sandwiches for that amount!)
