It was my first Mauritian cuisine experience! The restaurant looks casual, you order at the counter and they’ll bring you food. it is very clean and both hot food and desserts are nicely presented at the glass counter. A group of us shared fish samossa(spelled different from Indian samosa), vegetable samossa, chicken curry, octopus curry, mixed vegetable curry and spinach potato with plain rice. The cute samossas came with very spicy but tasty sauce. The curries all seem to have a strong influence of Indian cuisine but were not nearly as spicy as Indian. We enjoyed everything though I found the octopus curry a little salty… We looked at the glass case for dessert and decided to try ladou and cassava. Ladou is a ball shaped, soft, yellow sweet made with chickpea flour. It was sprinkled with coconut flakes and crumbles when you bite into it. It was nice. But, oh, cassava was my favorite! If you like chewy mochi-like texture, you must try it.
