Nice place for a meal or just a drink. Pizza is cooked in front of you, although it doesn’t have the Italian authentic taste — still nice and has a good choice to please all. Good service and friendly staff.

I love this place! The service is friendly, the food is just so delicious and the prices are fair. Sometimes you gotta wait a bit until you’re being served but its worth the wait! You can also bring your dogs and they have paint material for kids! Looooove this place

This is a nice spot for a pizza and a beer. They have great happy hour specials and the pizza is right up my alley: crispy thin crust(and so many great options to choose from. However, the other dishes fail to impress. The service to take your order is a bit slow, but once they remember your there, the food comes out fast. This is also a great spot for kids as I see them there a lot(probably because of the milkshake specials) and dogs are even allowed in the inside patio.

I love this place, tucked away, off Elgin Avenue. It’s an established local eatery that has all the things you want in a neighborhood hang out(almost, no beer on draught). Although it is always lively and busy you can usually get a table. The service can be erratic, but is normally friendly and prompt. There is a huge selection of pizzas and pastas to chose from at more than reasonable prices. They serve pizzas, just the way I like them, with a nice thin base. I epecially like the Classico, with Italian Prosciutto, Buffalo Mozzarella, Fresh Basil and Tomato. They also do a great garlic crust. As said earlier, it has a reall neighbourhood buzz. If you live locally, you will probably see someone you know when you visit. Even if you’re not a local, you will not feel uncomfortable, as it has a genuine welcoming atmosphere. It’s also a great place to just have a beer or wine with friends. In the Summer, they have ample outdoor seating. I like a beer with my pizza, so my only downer, is they do not serve draught beer, only bottled. But the pizzas are so good, this shortfall is easy to forgive.

We visited Maida Vale from the U.S. this week for the first time and this restaurant was next door to us, so we ate there several times. Overall, it has delicious pizza and very poor service. The rest of the food is about two notches above a diner. Here is a bit more detail on each aspect: Atmosphere — This may be the busiest spot we came across in Maida Vale. It can get quite loud on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The crowd is a nice mix of the older couples, families, and thirty-somethings that seem to make up Maida Vale’s population. Overall you feel like you’re part of the scene while eating there. One random note: I found the chairs a bit hard and uncomfortable, but most people probably wouldn’t notice. Food — If you come for the pizza, you will not be disappointed. It is a scrumptious thin crust pie with sweet tomato sauce and mouth-watering cheese. The rest of the food is blah. Not bad, but certainly not excellent. The alcohol selection is also below average. There are no beers on tap and the house wines are cheap table wines. Living in Napa Valley, one of the best wine countries in the world, we were disappointed. Service — The service here sucks. The waitresses are mostly young, attractive, uninterested-in-their-jobs women. While they always got our order right, they seemed impatient, quick to get through the order, and couldn’t easily be found later on in the meal for a request or to ask for the bill. I’m sure this is not their fault for several reasons, but it doesn’t make the experience any better. Interestingly, the gentleman who I perceive to be the manager /owner was quite nice and accommodating. Not sure why he doesn’t train his wait staff better. Overall, this is a solid 3 star restaurant. But it is absolutely worth going to if you have a craving for pizza and are in the area.

I love this place and you will too. It really has all the things you want in a neighborhood restaurant. It’s lively but you don’t have to wait to get a table; the service was friendly and prompt; the pizza and pastas have been well past the quality you would expect for the price and the wine selection is affordable but excellent. I have been here threes times and I am really excited that this place is in my neighborhood. It even serves brunch until 3:30pm! I haven’t tried that yet but I am almost excited to get a hangover so I can cure it with their breakfast!

Quite a cute place with greenhouse seats in front and pub-like seating in the back. Food is around average with quite expensive price tag. My husband gets pizza from here all the time but I personally do not see any charm. I think it is just a local joint which you go to when you are just options… Nothing special to try.

I love the food at Le Cochenet. Everything is perfect except for the service. At times, it feels like you have been forgotten as I have been left alone for half an hour before even ordering. If you are in the area, you should definitely give it a try, but don’t expect to be in and out in only 30 minutes.

I love their Pizzas. The americana(very hot-Indian dad can’t handle it) and pollo are particular favourites. The size is huge so be prepared to have leftovers you will no doubt get hungry again when home. Their spaghetti bolognese is also worth a mention. It’s simple but cooked with delicious organic beef. I tried the lasagne once and felt it was distinctly average so stick with the above items I say. There is a covered outdoor area as well as uncovered outdoor area. Place gets busy on weekends so worth making a res. Service can be a bit hit or miss. They have two screens which will show any games including sky sports but with no volume so it’s a good place to go with the missus and covertly watch something ;)

The problem with Le Cochonnet is that my flat is directly across the street. What’s the problem with that? I became addicted to the pizza so much that it was becoming an every other day occurrence and I had to quit full stop. The pizza is delicious! My favourites are the Honolulu and the Guilietta. I give the Cochonnet three stars for my other experiences. When I get a pizza to go, its usually pretty great(4 and a ½ stars). However, the service leaves much to be desired. Once we were seated in the porch part of the restaurant as the weather was getting chilly in October. The area we sat in had huge drafts and we absolutely froze. We asked the waitress if we could be moved inside the actual restaurant as we were frozen and the restaurant was empty. She was not very helpful or friendly, as said for us to stay where we were and she would turn on the outdoor heater for us. It didn’t do much to improve the situation and we still froze. We were there for brunch and ordered the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine. Both of these dishes were not very warm at all and honestly nothing to write home about. I feel like I could make this better with a recipe off google and a trip to Tescos. I was disappointed with this meal. Bottom line: Amazing pizza and poor customer service. A bit pricey, but that comes with the location. Expect to wait up to an hour and a half sometimes. I love a great pizza but I don’t think the pizza is THAT good to wait an hour and a half.

Mediocre place I agree with the review below, although my experience was not that bad. The food was not that bad but that staff really needs to work a little harder and to be more courteous with the clients.

Le Cochonnet makes the best pizza in London!!:) I am not even a pizza person and I really think the pizza here is delicious. The crust is on the thin side but perfectly so, the cheese is quality, and the toppings are all tasty and complement the rest of the pizza. I tried the pasta here once but it wasn’t very memorable(the spaghetti bolognese) but the pizza is always excellent. My favorite is the Baghdad with it’s yummy toppings(Roasted Peppers, Aubergine, Artichokes, Mushrooms, Garlic, Parmesan, Tomato & Mozzarella, according to the website. To me it is a yummy delight, especially the artichokes!) I don’t even love pizza in general, but I love Le Cochonnet’s pizza. I would definitely recommend this!

Brilliant staff. Very busy place, particularly weekends. Dog friendly! average maida vale pricing, my gripe were tinned mushrooms entirely on the wild mushroom pizza for more than 13 quid! other than that solid, italian grub.

Since I live locally, I was at Le Cochonet two times, and both times the food was delicious. This is perhaps the best place to have a pizza or other Italian food in Maida Vale.

This place is a lively oasis in a quiet part of town. The pizza is great — thin base and generous toppings. «Baghdad» comes recommended with generous vegetarian topping. Not the best pizza nor good value, but there is little to choose from in this residential area.

This place came highly recommended, and smells delicious every time you pass. Plus it’s always busy, which I had assumed to be a good sign. Now, I have NOIDEA what that’s the case. I should have known how the evening would go when I walked in, and we were ignored for a good few minutes, even though we were standing directly in front of three waiters. I don’t expect to be seated immediately, but acknowledgement would be nice! We sat down(on a wobbly table no less), but still I reserved judgement. I look to my left and realised that the pizzas were HUGE. 13 inched to be precise. I picked my favourite — an American Hot — from the laminated plastic menu. Eventually, a waitress came over, but looked distinctly bored — and couldn’t really be bothered to look us in the face. Judging by the sheer amount of time it had taken for her to come over, I’d already worked out that customer service wasn’t this restaurant’s forte. But never mind — for amazing food — I’m prepared to take a hit. Our mixed olives came out first(which were fairly average), with the wine. Even though we were only given diddy little white wine glasses, it was lovely. We asked for water, only to be told that they had ‘run out of jugs’ — but would look. Then our pizza. Mine was so big I could barely eat it as the plate was too small(no leverage you see). Instead of the spicy treat I was expecting, I was basically served up a pile of cheese on top of an ultra thin base — and it was utterly tasteless. I was so hungry I ate it, but the pepperoni was of poor quality, I could barely taste the jalapenos — and the chili sprinkle I was promised was no where to be seen. I watched the people around me all poke at their food with unimpressed faces. Seems most were a little disappointed. Then to pay the bill. At first they couldn’t work out which table corresponded with our order. Then they added automatic service. For the sake of getting out of there, we paid and left in a hurry. I’ll never be going back. Oh, and our water never arrived — and the food made us both feel ill for next 14 hours. Never. Again.

I confess it I am a pizza junkie… I have even contemplated having a sign made up saying«Will work for Pizza» so that it can be hung around my neck… and then I thought about it…“Will work”…really maybe not… but then again for the pizzas from Le Cochonnet maybe. Everytime I go to this restaurant it is nicely busy — always a good sign. As you may have guessed I particularly like the pizzas from this place and though I usually have takeaway I have eaten here once or twice. It’s a nice atmosphere, the staff are nice and the food on the whole is good for the price. If you area in the areas and want to eat some of «mamas» Italian food but not sit in a restaurant that looks liek«mama» decorated it — give this place a try.
