Great wine selection, but expect the prices for it to be a bit steep. Different with food though as this can be in a good value. The secret sauce for the chicken main was extraordinary and kudos to the chef for it. I would look for a chicken to be a bit more moist for my liking. I would need more attention from the waiters as I had to ask for my knife as well as missing fork for my boss. Same goes with the water to the table — it would be nice to receive a suggestion to bring more for such a big group we were in. You have to try the dessert crème brûlée — it was amazing, here is kudos for the waiter who prepared it. Sharing platter of cheese was definitely too small to share for £10. Starter of liver was brilliant to my liking. I would return but I would try different things this time, like a steak for example. My thanks again the the staff and see you soon.

There are well-established reasons to visit a rotisserie chicken restaurant. Divorce. Depression. A cancer diagnosis. But whatever the horrible circumstance of life that drives you into the arms of rotating poultry, a few basic expectations are not unreasonable. Crispy skin. Flesh that melts in the mouth. And, beyond the shortcomings of your dining companions, tasty chicken. George W Bush used to talk about the tyranny of low expectations. Le Secret de Rotisseurs has, apparently, been luxuriating under criminally low standards from its guests for some time. If I tell you that the bartender added a slice of lemon to a Hendricks and tonic, perhaps you’ll get something of the flavour of this establishment. Pudding emerged from the kitchen covered in cling film. Even my local Toby Carvery has the good grace to keep that shit behind closed doors. A wholly unexceptional meal for two cost £200($ 300). Even the black looks from the wait staff — and I say this as a fan of Paris — couldn’t make up for the sloppily cooked, lazily presented microwave dross.

Very good and delicious food, it is reasonably priced, taking in to the account it is on the river path with the stunning views.

I was really torn on whether to give Le Secret 3 or 4 stars. This is a French restaurant that really focuses on one thing — roast chicken. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It sits on a pedestrian pathway along the Thames and has great river views and outdoor seating. The roast chicken here is good and comes with a special sauce, but I think it’s pretty pricey for what it is. Their roast vegetables, on the other hand, are delicious. Le Secret also does a French-inspired Thanksgiving if you’re interested. You get a decent portion of turkey, cranberry sauce, some roast veggies, and pumpkin pie. Again, the vegetables are really the star of the show and the rest is just alright. The atmosphere and staff are great, and that’s what’s compelled me to give Le Secret 4 stars rather than 3. While it doesn’t quite make the cut into my regular restaurant rotation, I’m keeping Le Secret as my go-to backup.

Sundays are meant for the traditional Sunday roast with all of the trimmings. Roast beef is a personal favourite, but I would encourage you to try roast chicken for a change. This is the place to do it. Rotisserie chicken is their speciality and they do it very well. We politely perused the menu but it was soon obvious to me what we should order: a whole roast chicken to share with sides of roast potatoes and broccoli. We got carafe of white rose wine to wash it down. You can see the rows of chickens slowly cooking from your seat. As the skin turns a delicious golden brown, you can see the juices trickle. At the same time, your mouth is watering. The waitress carves the chicken on a trolley by the side of the table. I enjoyed this as it added to the theatre of the meal. She selected the choice pieces and plated it up for us. If we’re being picky, the breast meat was a bit dry, but the other parts of the chicken were nicely cooked. I guess it is hard to get the whole chicken cooked perfectly, when each part needs to be cooked for a different length of time. For dessert, we had the madeleines and profiteroles. These were ok, but really you come here for the chicken Total cost was approximately around £70 for roast dinner, wine and desserts.

Sadly this place no longer does takeaway, contrary to what I had read here and on the website. This was especially sad since it was very hard to find an I had walke on over from the Marriot after reading these reviews.

Do you like your chicken cooked properly? And by properly, I mean chicken which is juicy, tasty and not even the slightest bit dry? Then may I recommend Le Secret des Rôtisseurs. Tucked away by the river front in the Isle of Dogs, I’ve never seen this restaurant particularly busy in the evenings, so I’ve never needed a reservation. There are two entrances, which is a little confusing as to which way you go inside, but you end up in the same place, so what bother? They have a menu which contains several items, but if you’re here, you’re likely not going to look past the rotisserie chicken(enough for 2 people). The waiter brings out the chicken on a trolley, and carves it up for you. I assume they’re under instruction to make small talk and entertain the diners at this point, as it did feel a little. forced. But our waiter was a nice enough chap, and we had a bit of banter with him. The chicken itself is perfect. And I know my roast chicken. The waiter also talked up their ‘Secret Sauce’. Perhaps he’d set expectations too high, but I didn’t find it anything to particularly shout home about. They have a posh looking wine cellar room upstairs, which is worth sneaking a look, as well as a quality selection to pick from. And their desserts were very good. Overall, they get their signature dish spot on, and the service and environment are very nice. Definitely good for a quiet evening out.

This place knows how to cook up a chicken! I’ve been in many times, including a Thanksgiving special where they prepared turkey most excellently. The quality is what brought me here — and the consistency of their quality is what keeps me coming back. While the sit-down experience is nice, calling about 20 min ahead and ordering the half-chicken takeaway(picked up next door) is the way to go for excellent chicken at a great price in the comforts of my own home — with my elastic band pants on.

I came here with my boyfriend and two friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I am extremely disappointed by the rudeness of some of the waitering staff. When we first arrived, we were told that we would not be allowed to sit outside if we only wanted to order drinks, which I completely understand if we were there at a prime dining hour and several people wanted to be seated outside. However, it was 3pm on a Sunday in Canary Wharf, and half of the outdoor tables were empty. One of us ended up ordering food so we could sit outside. The 2nd waiter came by, a male, greeted us and provided us with the menu and also gave a brief description of beers and drinks available. He was very friendly and patient. We ordered a round of drinks while we looked at the menu. I ended up ordering madeleines with a pot of dark chocolate, which was delicious. The madeleines were fresh and warm and had a touch of citrus flavour. My friend essentially ordered eggs and soldiers, and the first waitress came back to serve. She was extremely rude and defensive to my friend and her demeanour was very negative. We felt like we were a nuisance for her, when all of us were just trying to enjoy each other’s company. In the end, this place had a nice location and seemingly very delicious food, but the waitress has given us a lasting bad impression. I’m not entirely sure if any of us will return, especially when my friend was spoken to so rudely.

A really great place. Their specialty is rotisserie chicken but they’ll also rotisserie ducks, geese, turkeys, pig, and some kinds of fish. Excellent selection of French wine, and very good desserts. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality and they’re passionate about what they do, but I think they’re having trouble with an inconvenient, out-of-the-way location. If you work in Canary Wharf it’s excellent for lunch, and if not it’s worth the trek.

New place near Canary Wharf: french, roasted chicken and AMAZING desserts! We went here because we heard it just opened and we wanted to try something new in our area — well, it turned out very well! Service was amazing, the waiter knew the menu like no other(it was great finally seeing someone knowing the menu soooo well!), the food was just crazy — sweet onion tartlet, roasted chicken(softest!), eggs and finely sliced creamy potatoes(omg) and home made cheesecacke(2xomg). Modern set up and décor, classy, elegant… we will definitely go back! Or if not we will just order from home :) Loved it — recommended 100%
