From the moment we arrived in Leyas we experienced bad service. The server was rude and unhelpful. We ordered what we thought was avocado on toast with poached eggs. When it arrived it was smothered in hollandaise sauce(not noted on the menu or pointed out by our server) As someone with a dairy allergy a buttery sauce on my eggs was not something I wanted or ordered. When I asked the server about this I recieved attitude and no apology. As a visitor to this country I must say I’m disappointed with the service we’ve recieved today, for the cost of the food here we expected more. For a £2 tea we thought we would get a small pot of tea but instead recieved a cup of boiling water. Only good thing to say about our experience today is that my almond milk(well at least I hope it was almond milk) chai latte was delicious.

Breakfast of smashed avocado on toast which I have been replicating for days afterwards, and they have a mushroom option as well. The coffee is a bit more coffee than I prefer — very dark and rich so perfect for some but a bit overpowering for me. But, they do have almond milk so for those of us non-milk people, it’s not just the default soy option which I really appreciate. Salads at lunch are also really nice and varied in taste, and the sandwiches look amazing though I’ve not tried any. It’s bigger than it looks with a decent sized seating area downstairs, so stop on in and enjoy a yummy sit down breakfast — seriously, how often does that happen?

Cute café with a full brunch menu, free wifi, plenty of seating, and artsy murals. I just wish they stayed open later in the day!

I absolutely love this place! Right outside mornington crescent station, this little shop is at a convenient location and beats all the chain cafes around! Tasted their Eggs Florentine and already thought it’s so yummy, but then i tried their Leyas breakfast which is toast made with advocado, spinach, mushroom and cheese, which made my heart pop! What do they do to make it so ecstatic? ! Coffee is yum too but their food took my breathe away.

There’s not much to say about this place! The coffee is AMAZING. Best coffee i’ve had in Camden. It’s great for just chilling on a Saturday morning, having brunch or just going downstairs and working on your laptop. Great service, great food and drinks, EVERYTIME!

Exactly what I want on a Sunday morning. Good coffee and food(though the croissants are not quite as fluffy and buttery as one would like), but mostly, a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Shame there is not more seating at street level, but even though the downstairs seating area lacks in natural light, it is decorated well enough to feel pleasant and cozy. It was not busy at all at 10:30am on a Sunday morning, so could even spread out with the laptop and get some work done.

I wish there were more places like Leyas. It is a very friendly place with fantastic aroma of good coffee. I give Leyas 5 stars because it also offers delicious home made food which is pretty healthy too.

In a nieghbourhood with more bespoke coffeeshops every day(e.g. Black Sheep), Leya’s is a standout. Excellent coffee, great sandwiches, outstanding brunch, and a very friendly staff all make it worth the while. Only drawback is that the music can be a bit loud, especially in the morning. Chill it out, Leya’s, and all will be perfect. The massive mural by LA-based artists Young and Sick is another bonus!

Another cute place that I stumbled on by accident! A little pricey but very friendly staff, great food, free WiFi, and a cozy setting. I could have easily spent a couple of hours here with a good book but my schedule did not allow. Highly recommended!

Cute neighbourhood café with awesome coffee and decent(but slightly less awesome) food. Atmosphere: Exactly the sort of cutesy place I love! Furniture in the basement is a a complete mish mash. Old school leather chairs mixed with pretty normal wooden chairs and tables. Has a slightly more retro feel overall. You can feel the tube rumble under every once in a while but somehow it just makes the place more charming rather than being annoying. Small selection of board games, and a jug of water you can help yourself to. All plus points. Coffee: Never particularly sure how to describe coffee but it’s definitely in the ‘very good’ category. Besides the usual selection of espresso drinks, they also do a nice cold brew. Food(3.5÷5): Slightly disappointing. Tasty and satisfying but nothing special. The food is just overpriced for what it is imo, and that’s definitely my biggest grievance with this place. Notes: Free wifi(the pw is coffee) but the wifi is annoyingly slow. I find I’m better off tethering my phone for internet when I need it. They have a loyalty card for coffee. Buy 9 and the 10th is free. Minimum 5 pounds for credit/debit card. They’re quite happy to let you pre pay for coffee and they just give you a pre stamped loyalty card when you do which you can just hand to them to redeem later. Convenient. Overall: It’s 5 minutes from me and is by far the nicest café near me so I’m going to keep going for the foreseeable future. Wouldn’t go out of my way to go there and as far as things go in the ‘awesome fun independent café’ space, this is one of those that sits right smack in the middle. Does the job for the neighbourhood but doesn’t stand out. (I don’t mean to sell it short though. It’s still really nice!)

A little overpriced place coffee is way too pricey than the other places around but the thing you win is the nice homelike atmosphere and friendly staff.

Have been here twice now — it’s not«ohmygodthisisamazingyouhavetotrythis» but nor is it «only alright.» The coffee is good, though only comes in one size when you’re eating in(takeaway gives you two size options, and sometimes I like to sit in with a large cup of caffeine!). The food is, again, good. They bring out both hot and cold meals fairly quickly, and everything tastes fresh(always a bonus in my book). I can never quite figure out portion sizes — some things look huge(the yogurt) and some look smaller(the egg/spinach dish) but all taste good and all are satisfying. The staff and the décor are fine. They’re clearly good with letting you spend most of the day there using their free WiFi, and the seats are decently comfortable. Not a place I’d go out of my way to get to, but as a neighborhood joint it’s pretty great. There’s just nothing exciting about it.

What a great find! I was in the area and just wanted a coffee and ended up finding this cool coffee house that had lovely and comfortable sofa seats, board games, free wifi, and of course, excellent coffee and snacks. I like how spacious this place is and I love the way it looks! Very relaxed yet trendy, I want to bring some friends and c ome back here for some coffee and gaming:)

Decent coffee, usual fancy coffee shop but this one has plenty of seating and a slightly better selection of food than most of the more centrally located coffee shops. £5 minimum charge for cards is annoying though, as is the extortionate price of a croissant!

Lovely little trendy café. Quality coffee, yummy sandwiches and things. Conveniently located near the mornington crescent station. Cute and quirky odd pieces of furniture in the large downstairs area. Lots of room to study or catch up or have a friggin staff meeting(as some group was setting up as I was leaving) The only thing I didn’t like was that they were SO trendy they played an Arcade Fire album instead of indiscriminate background music and so I couldn’t focus on my studying. Another time perhaps.

This feels very much young professional, but they hit all the right notes. There’s good coffee, cakes/pastries, and I saw some options for meals as well. Take your food downstairs where there’s plenty of seating, a casual atmosphere, and board games: always a plus! Free wifi too. The music was nicely unobtrusive and staff were friendly. Good experience all around.

Leyas is a coffee & artisan food shop opened in late August 2011. A few months ago I was living nearby and passing the shop every day. Before Leyas opened, there was a small random eatery. I went there from time to time after work. But what I actually missed in Camden was a nice artisan coffee shop, like the ones you find in Fitzrovia, Soho, etc. now with Leyas, this has changed. Unfortunatetely, I don’t live in the area now, but if you’re in Camden and looking for a nice place to enjoy a coffee, Leyas would be my first recommendation. I had a cappuccino and a delicious cheese cake. When I asked the barista, he said, they use Union beans for their coffees. I did not like, that I got the coffee in a paper cup and the water in a plastic cup. For the cake they offered plastic cutlery. So, there is some space for improvement, but already this seems to be the nicest coffee shop I know in the area.
