Lidos Hotel

I enjoyed my stay at Lidos Hotel. The room itself was very small, however from what I had read prior to booking all London hotels seem to be small. We had a large suitcase and two carry-​ons which we had plenty of space for. The room was clean and was in a good location. It was easy to walk to many popular attractions and was near by a nice pub, The Marquis of Westminster.
Breakfast was included in the morning. It was a simple breakfast with the usual items, nothing fancy but definitely a good start to your morning.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. When we arrived the woman checking us in showed us the popular attractions on a map and suggested a few other places to check out as well. On our last morning we were going to be leaving early, before the breakfast started, and another gentleman kindly arranged for us to pick up some food for breakfast that he had leftover from that day to take with us.
A few things to know about:
The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in! And I’m not picky at all about where I sleep so for me to notice must be saying something.
There were no toiletries offered in the bathroom. No shampoo, condition and no bar soap. In the shower they had a pump with «body wash» however there were no washcloths.
The room did not have air conditioning, which was alright because it wasn’t too hot while we were there (mid-​August). But the window did open so you could let some fresh air in.
We were happy with our stay and would recommend it to others!

A month ago I booked this hotel for a weekend stay in london on the internet. On the website it seemed decent for the price and conveniently located for the coach station to return to Swansea. I found the hotel no problems at all but upon arrival I soon realised it was a bit run down. The person in charge showed me to my room and told me the lock was a bit dodgy. Inside the décor and furniture were rather dated. I Don’t think they had done anything to the room for a long timeand I didn’t feel my things were very secure when i left the room. It was cheap and I was not expecting the ritz, but I was expecting better than this.
