My friend and I both love Indian food and wanted a restaurant close to our flat. We had fairly high hopes from reading the Unilocal reviews but were ultimately disappointed. Pros: — Warm, lively atmosphere with lots of Indian patrons, soft background music, and a large TV showing an Indian film right over our table. — Prompt and polite service from the waiters — Not terribly expensive menu items — Very clean restrooms — The daal included as a sauce for the biryani was delicious. If I was eating alone at home, I would’ve licked the bowl clean. Cons: — No thali — The portion sizes of the curry and samosas were tiny for their prices. We wound up ordering another biryani because we were still hungry. — The samosas, in addition to being tiny, were barely warm and part of the filling was even cold. I’ve had far better samosas elsewhere. These samosas were the worst or second-worst I’ve ever had. — The chicken tikka masala and biryanis we ordered were delicious but lacked the heat/spicyness we usually expect. We didn’t even need to drink water.(It’s possible that they dialed down our spicyness level because we don’t look Indian.)

Very clean food, decent menu and very balanced flavors. Not the best Indian I’ve had but far from the worst. It could very well be a staple for anyone in the area. Service was polite, though not terribly attentive. You might wait on the waiter a while to notice if you need anything. My only real complaint was the incredibly weak vindaloo. Barely worked up a sweat. But if you like your curry mild, look no further.

I wanted to like the place, but left really disappointed — it could just be that Lime doesn’t sit well with my taste buds. I felt like all the curries, the naan, the appetizers… everything was extremely sweet. Extremely sweet. I’ve never had curry that sweet before. The spicy prawns also weren’t spicy at all. Service was a tad slow, and we waited a while to get food. Also, if any mysterious people dining at the restaurant offer you a taxi lift, decline. We were totally cheated in the cab fare.

Our go to indian restaurant whilst we are in London. We only order Indian takeout from here, and it’s a favourite to take people out for dinner. The food is delicious! And very reasonably priced. My partner is an avid fan of anything extremely spicy, and whenever he requests something very hot they don’t fail to impress him. Couldn’t fault Lime, we love it

Excellent restaurant. Food was really good, service was perfect. Our group had 13 people(adults and children) and everyone really enjoyed the food and themselves, kids were really happy as the ice cream was on the house and few other dishes. Management and waiters have a really good customer service and a very friendly approach.

I don’t really like Indian food most of the time, this was a rare exception. Full flavors, nothing overcooked, and delicious. The food was only a secondary positive for this place, it was the service and the bar that was exemplary. We arrived at closing time twice and the owner could not have been more gracious and welcoming anyway. The manager was an awesome guy, very funny as well as great at his job. I only wish the people running most bars and restaurants would act like the staff at the Lime Bar and the world would be a much more interesting and fun place.

Ordered take out here several times, and each time the delivery guy kept me waiting for less than 20 minutes — important for this impatient American. They aren’t shy about the spice so be prepared to have a cold drink on stand by. Portions are decent and price is reasonable.

Had dinner last night and ordered the Thali dinner. It came with 2 chicken dishes, a lamb dish, rice, salad and naan. it was deeeee-lish! My greedy ass damned near ate all of that food — and it was a lot of food. How shameful! But isn’t more of a shame to waste good food? Everything was oily but very fresh and flavorful with a little bit of spice. I love me some Indian food. No joke. This was my first meal of my London trip and the food did not disappoint. It’s kind of an upscale place. Nice décor and folks dress up a bit to go there. There seemed to be a lot of couples of dates there. Service was not very good. But they were extremely busy with two giant and boisterous parties in the restaurant. They really need to work out their system a bit better. However, food can trump service.

This place is not one that you will stumble across. It is down a little side street down from the traffic light tree roundabout in Canary wharf(well strictly speaking Isle of dogs). But it is worth hunting out and I’d say it is the best curry place around here although there are two more obvious ones on westferry road. The food is really goo and you get plenty of it. The place is a little over designed(but not as much as one of the others) and I hve to admit it does smell of cleaning fluid a bit, which you kind of notice because it is never very full(I’m putting you off now aren’t I?!) but if you are in this neck of the woods and fancy a curry, do give it a try because it is very tasty indeed. I can recommend the mixed grill starter which is good value to share and if you are really pushing the boat out the £25 rioja is really excellent!
