Situated just behind Euston Square Tube Station, The Magic Circle certainly lives up to it’s name. A whole history of Magicians through time and props encased in this building in their Museum as far back to Houdini and many other well know Magicians over the years and there are many of their props on display too from the likes of Houdini, Tommy Cooper(He’s original Fez is on display), Paul Daniels, Ali Bongo and more) plus in the basement there is a whole Museum dedicated to the Magicians displaying their original old props and some modern props also used in todays films like Harry Potter. We saw 4 Magicians doing close up magic right in front of us and I was totally blown away and amazed with their tricks, then there was one final show upstairs on the main stage where a further 3 acts performed on stage for you, also during the interval you can enjoy a drink in the Club Room Bar and again have a look around the building at the history of magic through the years and see the many posters they have on display also there are members of the Magic Circle on hand to answer any questions you may have. If you are into magic I would highly recommend you come to one of their Magic evenings you won’t be disappointed!(Suitable for ages 14 and above. Under 14’s will not be admitted) and the evening draws to a close around 10pm.

The central place for all official magic in the UK and perhaps the world. The Magic Circle is the HQ meeting place for all members of the Magic Circle and Inner Magic Circle. Shows, lectures, classes, research and exams are performed here. Duke or Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Lord Mountbatten are members and join the likes of Paul Daniels, David Copperfield, Ali Bongo and many many more. The Circle also hosts a very nice theater, bar, reception area, museum and Inner Sanctum.

This is a wonderful venue secreted(the perfect adjective) around the corner from Euston Station down a small lane. I was here for the Figaro Digital conference and it was pretty well packed to the rafters when I got there. A warren of stairs, passageways, ante chambers all build around a teeny but comfortable theatre with brilliant acoustics. Each seat has the name of a famous /not so famous comedian on it. Oh oh oh, Its Magic playing in the loos, along with cartoons of Tommy Cooper encouraging you to wash your hands. Brilliant. Kitch, evocative, anachronistic but lovely.

What a fantastic venue, you can just feel the history here. Winding staircase, little rooms and doors everywhere, it has a really unique atmosphere. My only gripe would be that without mixer taps in the toilets the hot water was too hot so it was just easier to use the cold taps, a bit irksome. Pleasant helpful staff.
