Great little indipendant coffee shop at the end of my road. Very popular with the locals, especially when the Maida Hill market is open. They also do pastries, cookies and sandwiches. It’s good to see an operation like this is what was a very run down junction of the Harrow Road.

Maida Hill Gallery Café is a nice little place in a part in Maida Vale, where I am not very often. Inside, the shop is quite small and somewhat arty, in summer when it is warmer, you can also enjoy the sun and sit outside. When I visited, I was served by a guy who knew quite a bit about coffee. They get their beans from two different roasters — and I was surprise when he said that one of the roasters is Coffee Plant in Notting Hill, because I did not know that they are a roastery, I just knew them as a coffee shop. The flat white I had there was quite strong and I would say a little bit bitter, Italian style coffee — it was okay for me as a flat white, but I would not have liked it as espresso. Going with the coffee, I had some delicious sweets, something filled with hazelnut cream, really tasty. Unfortunately, they do not have freshly pressed juices, so I went for another coffee and the barista recommended a brew with beans from Costa Rica, single origin. I really liked this cup of coffee. Maida Hill Gallery Café might easily be the best coffee shop in the area — at least I do not know other decent coffee shops nearby.
