Tucked away in the hunting ground of Chelsea Football Club, Marco Grill has a classy feel to the place, welcoming you through a space-capsulesque curved double doors which transport you into a glittering dining room, adorned at the corners with comfortable sofa seating, with usual dining tables in the centre. The staff are polite and will offer to take and store your coat and bags, before seating you. It’s a comfortable dining space, and though it was quiet on the Wednesday evening when we went, it’s somewhere I wouldn’t mind going for a few drinks after work. The wine menu offers a good selection, though not as extensive as I’ve seen at other similar stature restaurants. The food menu concentrates on the staple of the venue — steaks. We were rather ravenous and had been saving up our appetites to try the 35oz Tomahawk sharing steak. A note for Tastecard diners — the sharing steaks are £20 off, not half price. That said, it was completely worth it at that price — the seasoning was good and cooked to specification, and the size was about what we’d expected. The sides were comparably very small for a sharing meal — I was expecting the portions to be enough for two people, but there seem to only be enough for one. The triple cooked chips were decent but the onion rings left a lot to be desired. The desserts we’d opted for — the chocolate tart with hazelnut ice cream was very good; the tiramisu was good, but there’s room for improvement. I had to send the bill back for an error to be fixed, but that was resolved without any dramas. All in all, Marco Grill was a good night out and experience. I probably won’t be in any hurry to rush out there again as there are many other finer steakhouses in London, but it’s not a bad place to dine.

Sometimes you just want a good meal and Marco certainly delivers. I had the sirloin with crispy vegetables and it was great. Some might find it a touch too formal, but I thought it really worked, good service too.

This Restaurant is hidden away, by Chelsea football club. Its wonderfully upmarket, offering up fantastic fresh seafood. Alfresco dinning is a must, as you can watch celeb’s turn up to eat in this hidden location. A big must is the Lobster and chips

We had an anniversary dinner at this lovely restaurant. Interior is classy. Staff were very good and professional. The food is refreshing and tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A great fine dining experience. Overall I think better than Restaurant Gordon Ramsey on Royal Hospital Road. 5 stars!!!

As you can see from the first Unilocal!photo(which is mine), we ate here before Chelsea vs. Fulham game on boxing day. Being a huge MPW fan, we gladly took the opportunity to dine at the restaurant right in the Stamford Bridge stadium. We opted for ‘full’ English breakfast pairing — specifically made for the game day. It included a 10oz Aberdeen angus steak with fried egg and pomme frites. Certainly the most decadent English breakfast we had in our travels in the UK. Anyone from America would have cried out of delight after eating nothing but fried tomatoes, blood sausage and proper bacon for the last two weeks. Probably wouldn’t have gone out of our way to eat here unless we were catching a football game at the stadium — and we’re glad we did!

It’s hard to know where to start with how disappointing this meal was. Four of us went for tonight and spent £250 for a meal that involved totally incompetent waiters, clueless floor managers and so-so food. The space is really quite drab and uninspired … the industrial brown carpeting outdone only by the huge automatic sliding doors that would be better suited to an office tower than a small restaurant. The room has zero atmosphere. The food was acceptable apart from the bread which was begrudgingly served, freshly microwaved so it became rock hard almost immediately… most bizzarely was how it’s plate was whipped away the minute each diner finished it. No «would you like some more bread?» just whoosh, you’re done –all before a plate of food hit the table. Order a Guinness and you will be presented with a glass of more foam than beer… question it and you will find a bottle slammed down in front of you to pour yourself. Don’t expect any conversation outside of «what will you have?» from the managers and broken explanations of dishes from the waiters. Get up and your napkin will remain where it was, your chair as well… I know it’s a little thing but you expect those little things at a fine restaurant. That’s what is missing at Marco — any attention to detail.

I took my girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day this year, a couple of days afterwards as we were both busy on the day itself. Used my TasteLondon card as well to get 50% off the bill, but we’re both students so she didn’t mind or think I was being cheap(which was good!) as it was the food and setting that made it so special. We went early in the evening, so we were the first ones there, though by the time we’d finished there were only another two couples occupying tables so it must have been a quiet night. We had three courses which were all fantastic, but the star of the whole evening were the Raspberry Souffles which we both chose — massive and the waiter made a slit in the top and poured delicious raspberry coulis into them. They were incredible! The service was fantastic, as it maybe should have been for the only people in the restaurant, and the drinks were great as well — local beers which were very special. We both had a cracking night out and are looking forward to finding an occasion to go again with our Taste card in tow!

I met with 2 friends here while I was visiting London. It was a bit out of the way, outside the city where I would traditionally roam for as solid a restaurant as Marco by Marco Pierre White. The interior is beautiful, great wine selection, and fantastic dishes all around. At our table, we ordered the following: Superb: Belly Pork, Marco Polo Glaze £15.50: This dish was quite extraordinary, and was cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of sticky-lips and savory flavor to keep one happy all night long. Recommended: Salad of beetroot £7.50 Finest Quality Smoked Salmon £14.50 10oz Rib Eye Steak £22.50 Depends on Your Taste: ½ Dozen Whistable Oysters: A bit briney, compared to other oyster varieties we eat in the States, but still quite nice. £8.50

I had the pleasure of a fine dining experience at Marco’s Stamford Bridge restaurant last weekend. The starter of Carpaccio of Beef was perfect and served with a lovely mustard sauce, my dining partner was as pleased with his Fresh Crab Salad. Our main meal was served too soon after our starter which made us feel a little rushed. My shoulder of lamb was amazing, tender and tasty. The Aberdeen Angus steak was a little overdone, but still very tasty and tender. The Eton Mess and Crème Brulee were excellent and huge portions :-), always seems to sweeten me up :-) The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and the ambience is great. Even though you are at a football ground, once in the restaurant you do not notice this as the restaurant is a rather neat well coordinated restaurant, which was also filled with fresh flowers. I would certainly enjoy another meal there as I need to sample some of the other menu items, ohhhh and desserts.
