I spent four nights here(at a very reasonable rate — for London — of around $ 120/night). I was in what was called a premium 1br apartment(I think), and really liked it. The apartment itself was spacious, well equipped, clean, fairly modern, and comfortable, and it was conveniently located near the Aldgate and Aldgate East tube stations. There is a Tesco Express down the street for grocery shopping, and while there isn’t much within a block or two there are certainly a number of eating options within a five-minute stroll, particularly on the adjacent and world-famous Brick Lane. The only downside for me is that it ended up taking a bit long to get to most of the places I needed to go, as it’s not really the most centrally located of neighborhoods.

Marlin if I had one word to describe you it would be ‘functional’ You achieved what I required. Marlin Apartments are self catering with a maid service once a week, you trade food in a hotel for more space. I do like this as when you’re in a hotel you feel obliged not to sit in your hotel ‘room’ all the time so end up out a lot spending money :) Because Marlin is an apartment you’re not in one single room, you can relax watching TV in your lounge and not feel like you’ve stared at the same four walls for more than an hour. The Apartment was all working, which was good, though the place was a little ‘tired’, it’s hardly the worst of things but when you’re having an extended stay somewhere you notice that place could do with a lick of paint, bit of maintenance etc, do not misunderstand it was clean enough, I just mean upkeep of the apartment maybe was a little overdue. Staff you don’t really need to speak to, you check in and check out, beyond that pretty much left to your own devices, which suited me fine. The Location is pretty good if you’re working near the Banking sector of London just far enough to not feel like you’re living in the office, but close enough for a quick 10 minute walk in the morning.
