A terrific little neighbourhood restaurant where booking is definitely recommend as essentially it’s just two long tables. Don’t let that put you off as you can still have a nice intimate dinner as there is plenty of space at the tables. The menu is designed for sharing and there are many great options, it’s hard to resist ordering the whole menu. The chargrilled sirloin was the highlight for me along with the heritage tomato dish. To be fair all dishes were very tasty. Vegetarians you are well looked after. Smoked beetroot and spinach ricotta gnocchi sound good? It is! Add some cumin battered baby aubergine with saffron and cardamom yoghurt and you will leave happy! Small but decent selection of wine and beers, no spirits. The menu changes regularly, could even be weekly. I want to move to Leyton because of Marmelo Kitchen

Marmelo kitchen is a long awaited restaurant to open on Francis road after various problems its finally open! After so long we were very interested to see what it would be like. The décor is cozy cantina but they seem to have missed a trick with the spacing and current demand although its understandable they are cautious being the first restaurant serving a residential area but still, they could do with the option of a bit more table space. They serve sharing plates and recommended 5 for two people although I would say 4 is enough unless you are very hungry. Not a massive choice and the menu is only on one wall but the food, when it arrived was very tasty. Over all we had a nice meal but they have some experience to gain and it was pricey for what we had! 5 sharing plates(only one of fish/meat) with a very small glass of red, a «craft» beer and apple pie inc tip was £50! We have plans to try the brunch and roast and really hope they fine tune and price down a bit as we would be dubious of returning for dinner as it is now.
