I was told by our dinner companion who frequents this restaurant that it was a good choice all round. My experience however was not. I had asked our waitress if it would be possible to have a plain grilled fish — as she had said that all the fish dishes on the menu contained garlic(I have severe reactions to garlic), and she checked with the chef and told me that I could have one of three fish without garlic. I ordered and was a little suspicious of my fish when it arrived, but ate it all the same. A sleepless night with bouts of severe nausea among other symptoms was the result. The restaurant was not busy, I believe there were perhaps 2 other tables only, and our waitress’s attitude was sullen, bored and disinterested in being there. My daughter’s dessert tasted as if something had curdled, and the replacement offered also had a bitter taste I was told. Not impressed by this establishment.

There are many little kosher resturants and cafes in this area but this one is by far the best. When I was a little girl my dad would take me and my brother and sister out to have proper traditional Jewish cuisine here. They do great Israeli platters with homemade falafel with tasty hummus. Any homesick Israeli I would recommend that you pop in here for a taste of home. The staff are really friendly and the service fair if a little slow. I’d love to give this place more stars but I think that they do need to update the menu slightly. It’s been the same for the last 12 years! It’s also not the cheapest café but that is what you get for Kosher food. If you are in the area I would recommend trying it but possibly not making the effprt to go all the way down there. I will say there is the best places to get bagel just down the road though!!!
