Spicy Moroccan Lamb sausage with apricot cous cous and mint yogurt. It was tasty. Not fall out of my chair amazing but really enjoyable. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service.

I wandered into here with a companion one night while on Upper Street when we were trying to find a light meal before heading out for the night. This place has really high potential to be a great restaurant but I was left a little disappointed. We ordered a great bottle of vino, very sweet and fruity. When we finally decided to order some food(service was terrible) we went for the large sharing platter which included all the staples of this cuisine, I.e. Tzaziki, Hummous, Pita, etc. The food did the job and filled us up, I honestly just found nothing about the meal which stood out. It was pretty generic and nowhere near as tasty as places I have been to with the same cuisine. If you really have a itching for this style food, go for it, but if not, keep walking down Upper Street for maybe 100 meters and choose one of the other great places offered.

This place gives you a 25% off coupon when you leave and it’s probably because you might not return otherwise. The space is quaint and cozy but the service and food are both hit and miss. We waited a long time for someone to take our drink order but food arrived quite quickly. But then we had to ask twice for side items. Lamb sausage with couscous and mint yogurt was good. French onion soup was also tasty and the banoffee pie is delicious. Fries are not bad. The Mediterranean veggies are somewhat tasteless and avoid the leaf salad — some lettuce on a plate with very vinegary dressing. A terrible value. I’m sure the people who run this place try hard but I think you can find better value for money elsewhere on Upper Street.

Went here with a friend. At the end of the meal my friend made the comment that it was completely unexceptional, and I have to say I agree. The restaurant has a «bored housewives meeting for coffee» vibe, and that seemed to be the clientele when I was there. The menu looked pretty good, however I was pretty disappointed with what ended up coming out. One bright spot was the calamari as an entrée. Service was terrible as well, with more than one of the serving staff getting pretty smarmy at times for no apparent reason. I’d like to think of myself as a charming and witty man about town but apparently they didn’t agree. I won’t be going back. There are tons of places better than this in Angel.

A bottle of wine and fantastic company made my Med Kitchen experience extraordinary. But to be honest, I found Med Kitchen itself to be quite generic. A safe Mediterranean influenced menu, standard restaurant décor and swift yet unimpressionable service made it a «something for everyone» establishment. Whether you bring your Mum, your potential business client or your first date, you can rest assured that you won’t offend. Surely getting exactly what you expect is a good thing, but is it strange that I remember more about my conversation about the various terminology for«bathroom» than I do about the food? In investment terms, this is your low-risk, guaranteed return type of establishment. In other words, no one will hate it, but the higher the risk, the higher the return, right?

I cannot fault Med Kitchen– perfect food, reasonable prices and consistenly good service. I have been coming here over the years when it called something else– Café Med I think. It’s just at the beginning of St John Streetway from busy Upper Street. There are a variety of dishes and there’s something for everyone including vegetarian, fish, pasta and hearty burgers. I normally order meat when I’m eating out but the chargrilled seabass with spinach is one of my favourite Med Kitchen dishes. The chicken wrapped in parma ham is alos highly recommended. I met a friend her a few weeks ago for an early lunch(so I guess it was brunch) and I tried the eggs benedict with smoked ham, hollandaise sauce and fries. It was really good and even better than the most amazing eggs benedict I had in a New York restaurant last year!

The Med Kitchen could be described in one word: quaint. Yes, it might be in the heart of Angel, but it’s still so cozy, warm and atmospheric: you could easily forget you’re in the heart of the city! Unless you sit out the front, on the road, of course! Professional service and really tasty, yet simple Mediterranean food make Med Kitchen a great location for a special night out. The great thing about the food here is that it doesn’t try too hard — the chefs let the food speak for itself without losing any control over the mixed herbs.

Med Kitchen has a great atmosphere on a weeknight, and is incredibly relaxing. The food is really wonderful, light and with a variety of flavors and spices from around the Mediterranean. I had a wonderful butternut squash soup and Moroccan spiced lamb sausages with a mint yogurt sauce and fries. It was a really great meal, service was excellent and the music is also great. It looks out on to Upper Street, so you can spend a cozy evening watching the people outside walk by. There was also a lone diner enjoying his food with a paper — a Mediterranean custom indeed. It tells a lot about the relaxed ambiance of this place, with a strong emphasis on great food. Its not cheap, but worth what you get.

This quaint spot only has a handful of dishes but all are great flavours and quickly served due to the deli style arrangement. Perfect for lunch when you want a reassuring pick me up for less than a tenner.

Useful location at the end of the shopping area past Camden Passage. Good opening hours and a fairly broad selection of fresh looking meals. There’s quite a bit of pasta and fish and the Mediterranean name sort of sets the expectation. Small amount of pavement seating but its on a busy stretch of road. Good to get a table just inside with a view of the busy Islington set and their intriguing shopping parcels. Pleasant, friendly staff.
