I went yesterday with a friend for lunch. The shop was a little cramped but it had a nice, relaxed feel to it nevertheless. We were seated immediately and given the menu. I suppose they could fix up the appearance of the menu; it was in two pieces after all. Anyway, there was a variety of foods on offer — pastas, wraps/sandwiches, breakfasts, etc. Most of the food cost below £10 which is decent; and once I received my order of spaghetti bolognese, I had to say that for a dish costing barely over £5, it was more than just decent — the portion sizes are remarkably large and more than filling for one person. I ended up not finishing, so they packed the leftovers up and I took them home with me. Would I go back? Yes. But only with the one friend. It’s all halal, and the staff and the owner of the café were very friendly and obliging. It had a lovely atmosphere despite the limited spaces available and it really gave a Mediterranean feel to the café. The prices are low enough for a student budget, and it’s barely ten minutes away from QMUL, making it an ideal destination for healthy and halal takeaways too.
