Melrose & Morgan is definitely worth a stop in. My boss’ chef recommended this place when I had to help host a luncheon in London. They have the most amazing bakery type bites, bread, deli items, and pre-made/ready to cook foods. I found some very lovely spreads there that I used as holiday gifts. The salmon with capers and lemons was a favorite at the lunch, and all I had to do was heat them up. Everyone I’ve give it to is in love with the ham. The staff was incredibly helpful, offering me suggestions on pairings and giving me tips for cooking and re-heating. Easy location in Primrose Hill/Camden. Really cute shop! It makes me want to bake!

I know that in London food shops like this are a dime a dozen but my partner and I came here every morning while staying with a college friend around the corner and absolutely fell in love with the place. The chocolate croissants, the home made yogurt, the honey, and breads, and pizzas… YUMMM! Next time I’m in London I’ll definitely return here.

The brownies are ok, but the chocolate chip cookies are super addictive. Good coffees. Great for lunch, but pricey.

Hello lover… seriously this place is amazing. it feels little like a museum, but with food that you can(pay a rather large sum of money for and) take home! they have amazing take away food, and loads of great almost ready, just finish at home foods. its all pretty healthy and organic and yum. they have an open kitchen that you can watch the chefs work their magic. pop in. even if its just to get a cookie. the high ceilings, clean lines, lots of natural light will just inspire you.

Good place to pop-into before you take a stroll along Primrose Hill or through the Canals. You do pay a pretty penny for the items here, but the portions of quiches and tortilla are quite generous and easily portable if you’re looking to takeaway. Good place to treat yourself!

I recently met with Melrose and Morgan’s executive chef, Flori Johnson to interview her for Londonist:
She’s lovely company and a good cook too! M&M is an upscale grocery shop and kitchen with two locations(I’ve only been to the one on Gloucester Avenue). They highlight small artisan producers and are always aware of where our products and produce come from. Striving to keep the air miles down and to offer free range and organic products that are seasonal, British and well sourced. The prepared takeaway components they serve are mainly British but they do recognize continental influence.

Excellent, seasonal british food. The soups are an absolute find! As are all the delicious pies!

This store is minutes from home for me, and a constant threat to my waistline. The shelves are lined with the finest of British condiments, sauces, pulses and more, but the main attraction are the pastries and hot food, which have become so popular that it often gets crowded in here and what comes out of the oven sells like hotcakes(cue drums). The staff can be somewhat aloof although perhaps understandably when they’re often overstretched, and the prices are not the cheapest in town; yet the payoff is worth it — fish pie, sausage rolls, cheese and onion quiches, mouthwatering fruit tarts, every single thing I’ve tried is utterly delicious and beautifully presented.

This is a really nice deli though I have never bought anything because it is too expensive. Nay bought a sausage roll that cost £2.50 but said it was not a patch on a Greggs sausage roll. So one day, when Im rich enough I might go back and buy something. And then I can do a better review.
