This was my first visit to Earlsfield to meet a friend who had just moved into the area. Mel’s had been recommended by her other half and we turned up on a Saturday lunchtime. It’s a nice place, the light has a nice balance with seating around the walls at the front with an annexe at the back that has more natural light. In fact, there’s a nice bar with a selection of draughts and bottles of wines as well as spirits. The place was busy with mothers and their children/babies but this didn’t in any way affect the ambience of the place. We had no problem finding a place to sit and there’s table service. You’ll find a good selection on the menu with a variety of breakfasts with eggs Benedict and Royale’s along with a variety of lunches and sandwiches. We both plumped for the tuna cheese melt with coffee’s which came quickly with an excellent side salad. I for some reason was expecting a Panini however the baguette was fine if somewhat huge. In short it’s a good place.
