They really cant call this Indian food. Everything tastes super sweet and they had the nerve to say this is how Indian food is suppose to taste. Lol This is completely catered to western pallet. Stay away if you are looking for Authentic Indian.

Memories defines it well. This place was ‘eh’. The food was fine but not great. And the service was ok as we kept having to seek the waiters attention. The added issue is that they ended up charging in USD when we were ready to pay in pounds. Now I have a credit card issue. Frankly we will not be back.

Very clean. Named a couple of proteins, prawns and lamb and server recommended some great dishes. Sides of lemon rice and green beans with flat bread made an excellent first night in London Indian dinner!

Came here for Christmas dinner, staff was very accommodating. The reviews were decent, but when we got our food, we found the food very flavorless. It didn’t seem like there was much added to it. Not sure if in the UK Indian food is suppose to be bland, but I was told UK has the best Indian food. I was disappointed with the lack of flavor. The food seemed like it was cooked in a hurry and mass produced. The meal was also really pricey, we ended up with a $ 145(US dollars) bill at the end of the night. Paying that much, I expected a lot more.

Chicken Madras had all white chucks of meat, very flavorful. Veggie Side dishes were priced well for portion size.

The freshest Indian food I’ve had in a while, beat some of the big guys(Bombay brass and light of India). Felt like I was a guest at someone’s home.

I was rewly surprised after going here or dinner as a result of reading the racing reviews. It wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. I’m of Indian decent visiting from San Francisco where we have many great restaurants. And usually Unilocal reviews always take me to the right place but I was definitely disappointed with the food here.

Visitors to London, we found ourselves at the Bailey Hotel and asked the hotel concierge for his recommendation on good, unpretentious Indian food in the neighborhood, and Memories of India was one of his picks. The atmosphere was pleasantly warm and the wait staff friendly and welcoming. The menu was easy to navigate and if a question arose it was easily answered. We had a variety of classics and treated to a palette of wonderful flavors and taste bud sensations. The heat was there if wanted or not. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. We had a wonderful meal of that showcased a small portion of India.

We were looking to have some Indian food during our visit to London but didn’t have much selection in the area we were staying(high street Kensington). We walked by this place earlier and checked it out on Unilocal and TA and decided to give it a try. We showed up and we were greeted at the door and invited in, from that moment till we left, the service was unbelievable and by far the best service I’ve ever received in London! The meal was exactly what we were looking for, great flavours nice selection and food was served quick and hot. It was the best Indian food I’ve ever had but it was exactly what we were looking for and the service made it that much better! Great job and thanks for a great meal.

It is a typical small and simple Indian restaurant that serves a good variety of foods. The service is quick and attentive, although they try to upsell you sometimes. The quality of the food is excellent, better than at similarly priced Indian restaurants. It is not a destination place, but if you are in the area it is an excellent choice.

The food here was almost as good as Woodlands. For some reason I enjoyed the food there a bit more, but the service here was outstanding. Really fast, very friendly, and quick to clean up your table. I hate it when some waiters try to take the plate away before you are finished. I think this is more with NYC than with London, but these waiters were on the ball. They gave great advice, seated us right away, and went out of their way to get the door as we were leaving. For some reason I had the bug for Indian and both Memories of India and Woodlands did not disappoint. Also crowded which is good at times since there are other Indian restuarants nearby that were not as crowded.

We visited from the San Francisco Bay Area and this was close to our apartment. Their service was great and I LOVE indian food and was not disappointed. They do not necessarily tell you what is «extra» and their bill is hand scribbled so you have to trust that it is correct. My husband had the lamb curry-it was«ok». The naan was great. I had the king prawn masala and loved it, although sweeter than normal, I loved it. They were wonderful with our toddler and had a little seat for her. Perfect night! Thanks for the great service.

I had heard that London had some exquisite Indian favors, and Memories of India brings them all together ! My concierge recommended this restaurant and I was very pleased. Being a newcomer to Indian food, I asked the waiter for some recommendations. He started us with a meat somosa and a vegetable somosa. It was good, but no competition to our main course. The chicken mossala and lamb curry were excellent ! You can’t beat good food in a great environment. I highly recommend Memories of India and plan to make this a regular stop on my future visits to the UK.

We had to wait for over an hour to be seated, but I guess that’s what we get for not coming earlier. The restaurant is pretty small, though, for its popularity. After reading the menu we expected to spend twenty-some pounds for the two of us, maybe thirty, seeing as how we only wanted one dish each. When the check came, we saw that we were out over forty pounds. The waiters charge for EVERYTHING: chapati(which was pretty bad), rice, naan, everything. They will never actually tell you whether something is included or extra.

I really wanted to love this place as my fellow Unilocalers had great things to say about it. But I can’t rave about my experience. Very mediocre. The food was good but I’ve had better Indian food in Seattle. The portions were a bit small but that’s very typical of Indian restaurants so I’m not complaining. The service was indeed extremely attentive(as noted by other Unilocalers), and almost too much so. The waiter put the napkin in my husband’s lap and picked up every crumb from the table immediately after we finished eating. I feel like if the service is supposed to be so great, why do we have to buy water for 3.99? The other part that I wasn’t thrilled about was they kept trying to upsell us without making it clear what the prices were. In America, many Indian restaurants bring you chappatti for free at the beginning of the meal. Here they brought it at the beginning but then they charged for it. They brought us two orders of rice without asking if we wanted them both. The server tried to bring us mangos at the end of the meal. When the check came, it was so scribbled that it was hard to tell what we were paying for. Was service charge included? We couldn’t tell and therefore tipped. It felt like they were trying to get as much money out of us as possible while leaving us confused. There are several more indian restaurants in the same neighborhood and I will try a different one next time. Three stars for solid food though.

Excellent food, excellent service. The waiters basically spoonfeed you. The decoration is really nicely done. Maybe the only criticism I could make is that the portions are a bit too small…

Memories of India has several spots around London. This is the best Indian food I have had anywhere in the world. I give the food here a 5++. I have eaten at Memories of India probably 5 times and every time it exceeds my expectations. The food melts in your mouth and every plate I have tried has been excellent. I think about flying to London just to eat at this restaurant.
